Fairfax-Nielsen poll:

"Just 28 per cent of respondents aged between 18 and 24 years, backed the idea of an Australian head of state, whereas 60 per cent said no to the idea."

18-24 - do they even begin to understand the issues or are they still recovering school students?

Good question! Should 18yo then have been given the vote by He Who Deserved to be Dismissed?

Support was strongest amongst young voters; with 81 per cent of respondents aged 18-24 supporting same-sex marriage.

In fact I'll ask another one.

Is there a discernible correlation time wise between that decision and the increasing ungovernability of this country?

Only since the 18 year olds got the vote - god help us if the 16 year olds get the vote as the Greens want.

I propose a vote for service scheme - as outlined in Starship Troopers - you EARN full citizenship rights through service, either military or civil.

We've had enough of the free range thinking associated with 'social sciences' these days and then passed on to the chumplings at schools and unis as gospel.....

You'll ALWAYS get that sort of result on a birth, wedding, or Australian tour of/by an heir to the British throne

There are a REMARKABLE number of Australians out there that believe the throne will bypass Charley on the demise of Liz - and go straight to Wills

It's NOT gunna happen, people !

Watch the poll results change with the harsh reality that will be
King Charles & Queen Carmilla

FULL RESULTS

To be honest I do not care either way.....The monarchy does nothing for Australia but it does no harm either.....Restoring Knights and Dames was a stupid idea that only happened because we elected a Prime Minister born in England who thinks the monarchy matters.....It doesn't!!!

I'm with buzz on this one.

For whatever reason, a lot of Australians think that Charles will abdicate and give the role to William.

Not going to happen, Charles has coveted the position for pretty much his entire life.

Now, what Australian out there wants King Charles and Queen Camilla? Because once the Queen passes, that will be our reality, Charles as our Head of state.

Does anyone actually want that? I know arch-monarchists who don't.

I don't mind Chuck and Cammie - seriously - what have they done wrong?  Chuck is OK - any man who talks to his plants and encourages them to grow is fine by me - and Cammie is just Cammie - not some ogre.

It's no big deal these days that she was no virgin on marriage etc and that they chanced to meet between the sheets a million times...

Mind you - I wouldn't be after her myself unless she had.. exceptional talents.....

They didn't kill Diana - and seriously, Di should have known that the upper class have their marriages and their discreet dalliances to allay the thirst of frustration etc.... who wants a blue balled King?
