Looks like I'm on me Pat Malone on this.  Oh well.  But it would be nice if people cut back on overuse.

it would be nice if they stopped the flashing attention getting sigs as well..  but even if you ask nicely they do it all the more..

The best illustration of what I reckon is over-use is by Grendel.  Check his last 25 posts and you will see what I mean.

Grendel would be outraged that you called him a 'righty.'  He insists he is not.

But....tonight, he has made an obvious effort, and well done him!  His last several posts ~ no emoticom.   Here's hoping others follow his excellent example.

I will, if you cut back on asking for links to back up every second paragraph.

No deal.  You want us to just accept what you say because you say you are an old fart, and therefore some sort of wise owl.  Mr. P. Farian debunked that theory today.....and I am still bewildered how you managed to be a very Senior Office of London Plod, given you also told us you arrived in Australia when you were 19.  Yeas ~ no deal Mr Mitty.

I like it when posters over use emoticons. It means they dont have an arguement and I have won. Most so called righties over use emoticons when out debated.

You're very perceptive.

Welcome to the board, Matty.

Don't be afraid to use the emoticons at every opportunity and with gay abandon.
