I did a Google search & found no evidence of heating to a comfortable 14 to 18 degrees in winter in British jails.

My bet is that it goes below zero in the cells at night.

I suppose if Rolf can wear about 8 jumpers & long johns he might survive.

And he can always paint himself a window to look out of.

Given what came out at trial then RH is right where he belongs, even if social mores have changed what he was up to was simply wrong, even back then, no two ways about that.
I find it hard to believe there wouldn't be heating in British gaols though, they' re under the jurisdiction of the Eurotwits and their Human Rights excesses and have been for quite some time so that would have been dealt with I'm sure.
While I've said, quite truthfully, that I would deal out justice myself for anyone  who had molested my own kids I would have only given that creep a "right seeing to" under the circumstances, he's really just a pathetic sleezoid and not worth doing serious time for. To be accurate, if he'd groped MY daughter SHE would have done the job first, I taught her to defend herself from a very early age, and I taught her all the dirty street-fighting tricks I knew(quite a few, but that's another tale, lol). We also had long whole family discussions about what was and was not appropriate behaviour etc
She has two older, much larger brothers, and they're both terrified of her, if she moves suddenly they both jump, even these days!  Grin I taught them self-defense too of course, but not the dirty tricks I gave her. While she was at Uni she worked part-time as a barmaid and was groped by a big aggressive drunk one night, so she dislocated his arm and broke his jaw and nose. Did I mention she has quite a temper?  Roll Eyes
Luckily her boss had already warned the fool and saw what happened so she had no trouble over it, he "fell down", and wasn't about to admit that the little 5'4" barmaid had decked him, lol.
Maybe if more parents took my approach there's be a lot less victims of these creeps?  Cool

There are some bars, some grey walls, a toilet and a big black man. Can you guess what it is yet Rolf?

Of course they do.  They have tv, gaming consoles and expensive gym equipment too.   Most aren't even required to wear prison uniforms.

So what? Australian prisons dont have air con and the cells get to over 50.

Get real - doing time at 84 is a death sentence.

Rolf will be dead in 6 months - the winter is fast approaching -

Judging by some of the comments here when Rolf dies there a few will get an erection and probably bat off over the pictures of his dead body.

Grin Grin Grin

Doubtful.

Harris has now been discovered to have a stash of child porn at his home. He would have been groping her during their courtship. She's his silent partner in all of this.

God knows what they're going to do about Rolf's gravestone when he shoots through. Bits of it will be chipped away as souvenir collectors' items, and a graffiti target if there's anything left.

They should cremate him and scatter his ashes to the four winds.

Bobby stop worrying about him.....yahoo answers

Rolf might even get some entertainment gigs, he'll be a hit with the inmates.....dum diddle ee um dum...British paints, sure can!

Do prisons have heating?

In the UK , they have to maintain a statutory minimum temperature, which means that during cold days they have to have the heating on. They are warmer and more comfortable than most homes which cannot afford to heat adequately.

They must have because you always see the Prison Officers in shirtsleeves, even in winter.

In the UK standard Health and Safety provisions are applicable, so yes, they do. They also have access to medical care, showers, toilets, entertainment and educational resources, basic skills classes, libraries and TV generally, as well as three meals a day. The only air conditioning in most prisons is from opening the windows, though.

you bet they do. the one i work in even has heated floors. a waste if you ask me (or anybody in my line of work, i daresay),

You're a WA boy, aren't you ian?

You remember Fremantle Prison?

Back in 1989, Brenden Abbott "and two companions escaped from the Tailor’s Shop in the West Workshops. Dressed in self-made prison officer uniforms they climbed into an air conditioner duct and through the ceiling to the roof."

Going back even further, to 1975, they built Katingal.  "Although the unit did not have windows, it was serviced by a fully integrated air-conditioning system which circulated fresh air throughout."

You familiar with Roebourne, up north?  "Roebourne Regional Prison has installed air-conditioning into the maximum and women's wings as well as the dining room and library areas."

How about Townsville?  Been there on holiday?  Aidan McLindon "proposed a 'tough love' prison regime whereby air-conditioning would be removed from cells and replaced with vents or fans and the ban on pornography properly enforced."

Should I continue?
