You're missing the point.

The point is their monetary value as an investment for the future.

The works of Cezanne, Picasshole, Ken Done and all the other 'modern art' graffiti that poses as 'great art' might all be absolute garbage in reality, but these paintings were marketed cleverly by entrepreneurs in such a way as to give these works investment value ... something that's on the increase with each auction.

Once something has been nominated as being of financial value, whether this 'value' is intrinsic to the work or just notional ~ it doesn't matter which ~ it then becomes a commodity on the international market.

I don't think it is worthy... wouldn't have any on my wall..

his art at its best had spontaneity.. but that's about all I can say.

Some sickos might like to collect it.. that is true... but . it wouldn't be for its artistic merit...

as I am sure if some scribble done by Ned Kelly would be more than wanted by someone today who has too much money to spend.....

however I would hope it would never end up in our galleries and or museums...bought with thousands of our dollars.....

Convicted child sex abuser Rolf Harris’ last night of freedom before sentencing in London

CONVICTED paedophile Rolf Harris is enjoying his last night of freedom before he faces a certain jail sentence when he appears ­before Southwark Crown Court tonight to hear his fate.

The British Home Office has revealed the man who was formerly Britain’s favourite Aussie entertainer may also be deported at the end of any sentence if he is jailed for 12 months or longer.

A spokeswoman said no decision was usually taken until ­towards the end of any sentence served but there were exceptions which include certain Commonwealth citizens and for family ­reasons.

It is understood Harris, 84, who has made England his home since 1952, never took out British citizenship. He married Welsh-born sculptress Alwen Hughes in 1958.

I think if he does more than  12 months it will be, the Spirit in the Sky whom Harris meets next. And that will be Judgement Day for him in the real sense of the word.

RH's art will be like Hitlers, curiosity value only, and a very limited market.

What makes me smile smugly is the certainty that at some point the "art market" will collapse, tastes will change and a lot of rich people will be left with a lot of very expensive unsaleable rubbish hanging on their walls or in their vaults.
