There is no doubt that Aussie is a censor with a very low threshold.

He won't even allow a bikini girl on his forum.

I believe I have explained Bobby.  I work on the basis that it is better to nip things in the bud very early.  If I give an inch, there are many around here who will take slow but incremental steps, and I am not willing to allow that to happen.

There is nothing wrong with that. In the scheme of things - asking you politely to remove a picture isn't a big deal.

Perhaps he's just laying down some rules?

Despite the rubbish Aussie spits out, having any of these cartoons on your computer will not result in your arrest at all, by anyone, ever.

This is one of those situations where it might technically meet a definition, but the police are unlikely to arrest anyone because the chance of conviction is so low. Trying to convince a jury that it is pronographic and that someone should be sanctioned for having such an image is unlikely to succeed.

Wanna bet.

Big difference between what is clearly pornographic and an entirely clothed cartoon, at least in terms of convincing people.

I'm not even in the country right now, but even if I were I wouldn't invite trouble. Like I said, I find it hard to believe it would be prosecuted because I doubt a jury would convict, at least on that evidence alone.

It's a challenge for stupid people. There is nothing at all to gain from it.
No, you said you wouldnt be arrested. I say you would, next time you come back through customs make sure you have those caricatures on your laptop HD then draw the officers attention to it.

You need to read the relevant act again, I can assure you with a fervent  prosecutor you wouldnt have a hope of not receiving a custodial sentence. what it hinges on really is whether you would be arrested. You would.

I don't care whether there's a nipple showing or not. It wasn't a bad photo. I was offering an explanation as to why it might have been objected to.

Aussie seems pretty tolerant of most opinions - just not personal abuse. I agree with him on that. There's nothing worse than a member following you around the forum and the only contribution they make is a personal attack.

Bettee to set the bar high than low. Theres plenty of other sites where you can post pictures of bikini chicks.

this is a completely different scenario, and if I was the judge, I would still put them behind bars.
The pic with Mohammad isn't a promotion of child pornography, the biggest crime here is a mockery on Islam, and is not unjustifiable, since it really DID take place. It's not depicting any acts, or pleasure associated with it, I am personally disgusted by the old man, nothing else comes to mind, ffs. It might be offensive to religious sensitives, but unfortunately doesn't take away the fact of it  Lips Sealed
The story with Simpsons is all contrary to this, and that is definitely qualifying as heavy crime.

If GST rises by 5%, then your income must also rise by 5%. Which means you will either become unemployed or underpaid. Choose wisely

Well considering even for the explicit Simpsons one you mentioned there was no custodial sentence, I find that difficult to believe. Contrary to what you say, police do use discretion at times. I can imagine that many of them wouldn't even think it was considered porngraphy, so unless they were specifically looking for it, it may well be ignored.

I'm not an idiot, I have no desire to ever make my customs experience any harder than it needs to be. I'm not convinced I would be arrested, but I have no desire to find out for sure.

Don't see the value it in, but as member run board, he can set the bar wherever he wants.

OK. Here's a question.

Would you show that cartoon to your young child or grandchild and laugh about it?

I definitely would NOT neither show it nor laugh about it. It is not amusing. Period!

However, it is not porn to an adult.  It is extremely Bad Taste.

Many things are in Bad Taste ...... we all have to realise that OUR ideas are not 100% pure, other people do live on this planet and they, too, deserve a hearing without abuse.  Wink

It is clearly child pornography material.  Read:

Quote:
Section 473.1

"child pornography material" means:

(a) material that depicts a person, or a representation of a person, who is, or appears to be, under 18 years of age and who:

(i) is engaged in, or appears to be engaged in, a sexual pose or sexual activity (whether or not in the presence of other persons); or

(ii) is in the presence of a person who is engaged in, or appears to be engaged in, a sexual pose or sexual activity;

and does this in a way that reasonable persons would regard as being, in all the circumstances, offensive; or

I only posted the said picture of a girl in a bikini
to verify the prudish limits of Aussie.
The bar was set very low.
