I have 2 girls. I couldn't for the life of me believe Abbott is sexist.

I think he holds traditional values - which I like given I think the breakdown in the moral fabric of our society is abhorrent and has been led by the limp handed Left for decades.

But when you are father to girls, why on earth would you support views that would see them disadvantaged.
It's impossible for me to be sexist because I want the girls to be the best possible and succeed above everyone else - male and female.

It's a shame for me their first role model of Australian female PM was so such an utter abject failure.

Agreed. She is a coward. I love how all these politicians manage to only tell the truth and/or reveal their feelings once they retire or lose their seats. Look at Hewson and Richardson. It's party discipline that precludes politicians from speaking out, not a lack of courage. Once freed from the shackles of party discipline, we see some quite interesting viewpoints from former representatives of the major parties.
