My own jury is still out on that one. I believe some parents are guilty, but others are not.

I'm reminded of the mother who said all her good instructions to her child on how to behave and conduct himself properly were destroyed in just one week after he had started school. The rotten example of the kids from poor home environments wiped away all her good counselling in just a few days. He became a semi-feral by joining the little wolf pack in the school yard.

The former chief of the Australian Federation of Islamic Councils has said he doesn't know why Australia's imams have not said anything to their congregation about the hazards of radicalisation of their youth, and have not told their audiences to keep a close eye on their sons to dissuade them from going troppo with Islamist fervour.

Obviously all those instructions from the mother failed to make sufficient of an impression on her son if it took only one week for him to be turned around old man.
