Article from Daily Telegraph. And it shows. Spiteful, baseless comment, lots of lies, and the barest smattering of half-truths. Yellow gutter-journalism at its pathetic worst. And no, I wasn't a Gillard supporter, so don't even bother going there. how about you tell us the REAL truth then kat??>.. has the smh done a review yet? |dev|null wrote on Jun 30 th, 2014 at 3:45pm: thats right SHE ONLY ATTACKED SINGLE MOTHERS... from memory.....ooops didnt she vote against a pay increase for pensioners as well>>oooops own goal. Gillard introduced the NDIS, which rather proves her credentials compared to Tone Rabbit as far as regard for the disabled goes, I think. Gillard was actually a skilled negotiator. During her term as PM of a minority government she retained the confidence of the House and has all her legislative agenda passed, often it should be noted with the support of the Coalition. The Coalition, despite all it's histrionics was unable to garner the numbers in the House to pass a vote of no-confidence and in fact never tried. Instead all they did was disrupt proceedings and insult her as much as possible. The only thing we've seen change is that they are the Government and they use the "c" word to describe the Leader of the Opposition, something no one in Labor ever has. I think she deserves a lot more credit than she necessarily gets. Indeed, most of the criticism of her performance centres around her femininity which is IMO sexism. First of all, the NDIS wasn't fully funded and secondly her gender had zero to do with her downfall. Actually, it had a great deal to do with it. The attitudes of many on both sides of politics was that she was "barren" and that had "sacrificed her potential child bearing to her political ambitions", things which have never been mentioned about her male predecessors or successors. Perhaps if Tim had been able to have kids, all would have been right? Quote:It was all about her policies and her incompetence - the same reasons for Rudd's downfall TWICE!!! Yet, as I pointed out, despite her supposed "incompetence", Gilliard got all her legislation through both houses of Parliament despite leading a minority government. She also retained the confidence of the House. Compare that with Tone's performance leading a majority government... yes Bwian most of it was allowed through by the opposition unopposed and unamended. Wassup bwian logic and reason and facts left you completely these days? edit
