To be honest, I don't quite know where you stand. You seem to have endless reserves for meaningless hairsplitting and 'yes, butting' but have no actual stance on most issues, other than 'I didn't say that' when you can no longer obfuscate.

Do you know where you stand on, say, the asylum seeker issues? Do you have an actual stance or is it just an endless nitpicking of whatever is said by others.

Yes, how dastardly of those evil women to do all they can to avoid having their children sent back to those lovely peaceful paradises in Syria and Iraq.
Didnt they come here from Indonesia? what threat were they under there?

Indonesia does not process and settle asylum seekers. They were in legal limbo there.
Only as asylum seekers. Indonesia allows them to stay, work and everything else without threat of persecution.

So an Iranian or Syrian can just drop everything and say "hmmm, I think I'll go live and work in Indonesia"?

I don't think so.

All you had to say was "sorry".

You prove my point.

When asked to articulate where you actually stand, you immediately retreat into what you mistakenly believe to be wit but which is just inane deflection you have probably first used in junior school and have never moved on from.

You accused me of saying something I didn't say.  I set you straight on that.  You don't want to admit you made a mistake?  Fine.  If you admitted to all of your mistakes, we'd be here all day.

Then, you asked me where I stand on "the asylum seeker issues".

Well, Soren, there are many issues.

Which one, in particular, would you like me to comment on?

This thread isn't about me, however, I'm only too happy to answer your questions if that's what will make you happy.

So, fire away (but please, be specific).

One with money can. Dont think that these asylum seekers coming from Indonesia are poor with nothing but the clothes on their back, that isnt the case.

They are not Syrian nor Iraqi ... more likely Lebanese or Iranian...

but most who are from places in the ME are men ... especially those from Afghanistan.

The recent illegal arrivals are Tamil Sri Lankans. Yes Sri Lankans .... albeit they belong to an ethnic group that wants or wanted it's own separate state .... until the Sri Lankan govt. finally suppressed their terrorist faction the Liberation Tigers of Tamil Eelam (Tamil Tigers). These people are descended from the same ancestors as the Tamil people of Indian state of Tamil Nadu. They being the only "tigers" that inhabited Sri Lanka.

So the Tamils are oppressed. Ever heard of the Tamil Tigers a much feared terrorist organisation in Sri Lanka?

What happens in Sri Lanka should bloody well stay there. Don't want them, don't need them.

So why should we?

In that case the Indonesians should deport them to from whence they came.

Are they fleeing Sri Lanka because they don't want to die?
Shocked Shocked Shocked

Exactly! They don't want to die, but are willing to threaten suicide to get their way. Um, why bother making the trip in the first place, when you could off yourself at home? I think they think we are stupid. We don't want suicidal people migrating to our country. We don't want violent people. We don't want stupid people thinking that they are smart enough to emotionally blackmail our nation into giving them what they want, when they know that they are arriving here to get a free ride.

Even a child would understand that the amount of money an asylum seeker has is completely irrelevant to their refugee status.

Astounding ignorance.
