Notice how Stiglitz offers no alternative solutions. He thinks money can just keep getting spent.
It's not about emulating the USA anyway. It's about not becoming another Greece or Spain.

I know. What would the former chief economist of the World Bank know about money?

Pathetic, leftards, just pathetic.

His credentials mean little. I've read enough garbage from Doctors and Professors over the years to know titles mean little.

World Bank economist is not a title, Mistie, it’s a role. It demonstrates one’s experience.

Still, what would the World Bank know about development and income distribution?

Your Garbage Professor would be much more experienced in this field, I would imagine.

Cleanliness is next to Godliness, after all.

Of all the snippets I've read of Stiglitz he's not offered any solution. It can be fun and cool to criticize but eventually you've got to offer some solution.

Solution to what? He’s one of a host of economists, financial forecasters, bank CEOs, and world leaders who say Australia does not have any significant economic problems to correct.

Stiglitz is saying that making health, education and welfare cuts to pay off a teenie weenie budget deficit will make us poorer in the long run, not richer. And he’s citing his experience with the US economy as an example of what not to do.

His solution is to not make drastic budget cuts. The problem is not the deficit, but rising inequality levels. Stiglitz is advising Australia not to go down the path of the US.

What solution would you prefer, Mistie?

The problem is Stiglitz has no great knowledge of Australia and the Leftards that inform his opinion are what?  That's right...  biased....

Even Judith Sloan had to patiently correct his assumptions and misconceptions, on the Economists Q&A the other week.  Roll Eyes Roll Eyes Roll Eyes

And I usually don't agree with her stance on many things.

Like I said he spent most of the night making incorrect assumptions and being corrected.
I hope he learnt something.

So we should just keep spending then? Kind of what happened in Greece and Spain.
