Australia food more expensive than other countries
Jul 12th, 2014 at 12:38pm

Is this the future as prices continually outstrip wages growth of middle class. I contend that this problem started when Australian dollar fell to around US$ 0.5 back in the late 80s through the 90s. Prices went up then and prices are sticky. They don't go down when the A$ rose again.

http://www.news.com.au/lifestyle/food/why-is-food-so-expensive-in-australia-comp...

"...According to Numbeo, a website where users contribute data from around the world, grocery prices in the US were 24.85 per cent lower than in Australia. In Singapore they were 18.52 per cent lower, in the UK 12.25 per cent lower, France 9.67 per cent lower and Japan 9.47 per cent lower..."

There is no evidence of the existence of a muslim, mohammed,or quran until 60 years  after mohammed was supposed to have died. Grin Grin Grin Posting on islam just encourages them and is a waste of time.

Try living in Perth.

"Perth is most expensive city in southern hemisphere"

Indeed great food for thought, stickly sweet, it's akin to supply and demand again, try shopping in Broome WA sometime!

but re your link -

We had a good look, but couldn't find the page you requested.

This is either because:

Australia is more expensive - and Perth in particular - because we are so rich. Remote areas are expensive because of transport costs. If you are happy to live of fish and camels, Broome is dirt cheap.

Ha ha - in discussion with a lady in Cambodia - a teacher in a private school - I mentioned that I had about $50 until Wednesday - she said she could fly home for her mother's funeral anniversary on that - one way.

Hardly rich when you compare income/costs of living.

The ex's daughter just had a power bill for $1000.

Freediver is another dogma inhaler and regurgitator who accepts without question what his masters tell him.

If you compare Australia by GDP at purchasing price parity you are not so rich. Get real buddy. Too much dogma has made your only neuron wobbly.

If it wasn't for oil, gas, iron ore and coal Australian life would be very agrarian as it was before the 1950s living off the sheep's back.

But of course it would and we would all be living in tents forging for food and wild game hunters.
