Abbott tries to blackmail Qld voters
Jul 13th, 2014 at 4:30pm

Is Abbott trying to scare or threaten Qld voters? This in a speach at the LNP State conference in Brisane

He said key infrastructure projects could not happen if the federal government was forced to work with a Labor state government in Queensland.

"Only a coalition government in Canberra will work with a coalition government in Brisbane to move the people and the goods of Queensland around this great state," he told the party faithful

Is the federal government not prepared to accept a democratically elected state govt. if it isn't LNP?

Abbott should be thrown out of office and have all his perks removed for making threats like that.

Yeas, it was a silly thing to say, and it will have zero impact.  Abbott stinks up here to the same extent as Newmann does.  The LNP in Queensland is in for a drubbing.  The imminent Stafford by-election will demonstrate exactly that.  PUP will take a lot of seats off the LNP, and it is completely conceivable that PUP will have the balance of power.  How that is used is hard to tell, given Palmer has said he wants to repeal every piece of legislation enacted by Newmann's Government (and he may well be very serious about that) and has put on notice any purchaser of a public asset that they will have it resumed from them with zero compensation.

Newmann does have a couple of mates he has spoon fed after their retirement from the Military.  No three stars, but he does have a one star on the gravy train in Brigadier Bill Mellor.

A bit of blackmail gets you nowhere Mr Abbott, Queenslander's are over Newman. He will be voted out.

We will get by without the infrastructure, getting rid of the LNP is the main game. We haven't had much infrastructure for forty years, we can wait, we're used to it.

Deputy Chief of Army Angus Campbell will be put in charge of combating people smugglers and securing Australia's borders under the incoming Coalition Government.

Major General Campbell will be promoted to a three-star general and will coordinate the 16 departments and agencies that will come under the Operation Sovereign Borders policy.

Lieutenant General (LTGEN)
Lieutenant General is the second-highest active rank in the Australian Army. The Rank of Lieutenant General is held by the Chief of Army, currently Lieutenant General David Morrison AO. The rank is also held when an Army Officer is the Vice Chief of the Defence Force, the Chief of Joint Operations, or the Chief of Capability Development. The rank of Lieutenant General is referred to as ‘three star’ rank.

Good to see you didn't melt under the pressure of trying to think up a reply, chocolate boy.  Grin Grin Grin Grin

I am  well aware of the star ranking system, and what it used for, but I do take the time to refer to a persons rank and not their star equivelent ranking. Maybe they should have taught you that in the little time you were serving.

But then you you know so little about the ADF, Im not surprised,  Smiley

Amendng my post doesn't changw what you are.

He doesn't have much to worry about.

The LNP will be gone in QLD next year anyway.
