Freediver, mate, pal etcetera ........ could you please LIMIT the quotes in posts to, say, the last 3?

It becomes most annoying when replying to a post, there are reams of quotes and somebody just says "I agree" ... then the next person quotes all the quotes and states "exactly".

I agree. Grin

But I really do, it's a good point. I reckon it's because many of us use iPads or phones to post and it's a pain to just copy the most pertinent quote of a group. That's my excuse anyway.

YaBB does not have the same feature as phpbb that allows you to do this.

Bullshit ..........

You should be able to reply to a post without adding ALL the rubbish.  Perhaps "REPLY" should be more relevant than "QUOTE"?

I think that too many "debates" get side-tracked due to the annoying "quote" almost every thing anyone said on the subject for the last ...... month?

Let's get back to BASICS.

Yes. There is a rule. If you swear, you must spell it correctly, so it can be sanitised if necessary.

There was, but the moderators can't be here all the time to monitor it unfortunately. Some people just love swearing and nothing will stop them. Give them an inch and they'll take a mile.

It's a pity, because under moderated boards are as big a deterrent as over moderated boards. It's hard to find a good balance.

as far as I can make out this isnt about LANGUAGE its about the numbers....and as fd has pointed out nothing we can do about it...well there sort of is.. one can delete the bits at the top of the page once the quotes come up.  and that leaves more room for the reply...

when people spread their replys out...why I dont know...this also takes up huge space.. sometimes they only use a couple of words but its all over the page...

are they greedy with the room?.. who knows...but some do it every post..
