This is another poli with a wealthy wife who also owns investment properties for which we the tax payer pays the rent on her Canberra investment property so that sweat hog Hockey can live in it !! I thought Hockey said that the age of entitlements were over ? They are only over for the low end of town

A lot ado about nothing imo! They have to be accomodated and choose to use it to their advantage - nothing wrong with that imo even if I hate the bastard!

Yes there is ..... if you are paid an allowance for accomodation that's what it should be spent on....

not paying off another property/investment home that you can later sell for big money.

It is to prevent you being out of pocket for expenses incurred doing your job .

Not to assist you paying of property assets.

It's a f*#king hypocritical double standard rort by our politicians. Angry

Hockey even takes other pollies allowances as rent for rooms to help pay it off faster.

Rubbish! .... the allowance is for accommodation expenses. SFA to with a negotiated salary package.

We pay these bastards, not an allowance to spend how they wish & supplying a house is not an option.

I worked for the QLD Govt. for 40 years & the allowances for living away from home & accommodation would never have covered paying off a mortgage. It barely covered the cost of 3 meals per day.

And if they provided accommodation it was a 3rd rate flea motel or their own dark ages quarters or dilapidated houses.

So what's good for the goose ...........
