The politics of panic

Abbott is trying to get us to ignore his toxic budget and the appalling gaffs made by his hopeless Ministers by using the age old tactic of fear and hatred.

The question is...how long will the Australian people fall for this rubbish?

Look at the stats..how many people in Australia are sexually/physically assaulted or murdered by a family member or someone known to them each year compared to assaults and murders by terrorists in this country?

Lets face it...Abbott is playing politics with the situation in the Middle East while he says and does nothing about the real issues at home.

Are journalists being beheaded by terrorists in the Middle East more abhorrent to the Abbott govt than young women being raped, beaten and murdered on the streets of Melbourne and Brisbane?

It must be so because there is no national alert about the daily abuse and deaths in our own country by our own citizens.

So you want him to take over the running of the states and the individual state law and order issues.

Yeah, that's brilliant argument to put forward.  Grin Grin Grin Grin Grin

The LNP hate the fact England and America are ahead in terrorist attack.

Australia is a virgin and Abbott wants that kept till the time is right.

Close to the next election would be ideal which is why the LNP is so busy courting countries to let it come in and kill some innocents, preferably ones with family who will take revenge.

ISI is currently LNPs best bet, it has a good track record by religion.

Twin towers sent Bush the message your not that smart.

Abbott and the LNP have just rushed in new terrorist laws it needs to publicly parade on the backs on dead Australians.

LNP bombing innocents overseas is sure to get the terrorism act the LNP desperately wants for next election.

What's a few Australian lives when LNP pay packets are at stake!

The LNP is fully aware we the punter must be forced to get our priorities right.

A few US and UK citizens murdered by crazies overseas sends our govt into panic mode where as the hundreds of Australians and international students/visitors murdered in Australia every year barely gets a response.

This is the politics of panic at work.

Statistics of terrorist murders of westerners at home and abroad are piddling compared to "ordinary" murders.
So while we must fight against the terrorist groups that have risen since the three amigos invasion of revenge in Iraq we should never let our pollies use terrorism as a means to cower us or to use their hate and fear campaigns to erode our freedoms.
Dont let one term tony fool you...this is just a modern version of the Conservatives "reds under the beds" political campaign's of the past and we all know that these days we rely on those very same reds  to keep our economy from being flushed down the toilet.

Ah, yes - the old argument about law and order - whether you should first have law or whether you should first have order.... an interesting and highly involved subject....

I once wrote a blurb on the varying aspects of combinations of law and order..

**rummages in old grab bag.. unfortunately I never published it and that computer is deceased.... buggar.. all that thought...**

One aspect is that in order to establish law you first have order - in Syriraq, you bomb it flat then set up instruments of law... until the next round.... the work out who to bomb this time.... eventually you reduce all the out-law groups to approaching zero, and you have a tame society of about ten people...... widely separated....

Put any two peaceful Arabs in a room and within twenty minutes one will emerge victorious holding up the head of his fellow and crying will of Allah....

Ok Tony...why a nationwide alert and a concentrated media campaign about middle eastern terrorism...why not a nationwide alert on the people that cause premature and gruesome deaths in Australia.

A young girl died a horrible death on an Adelaide Show ride a few days ago and Abbott said nothing but if that same girl died because of an assault by a Muslim he would've called a press conference and declared a state of emergency....The girl suffered a senseless death and her family is suffering unimaginable grief so why does one senseless and horrible death mean more to Abbott than another?..Political mileage and sensationalism maybe?

I blame that sycophantic ASIO head for playing up to this government's BS instead of doing his duty to the Aust people by giving proper advice. I wouldn't be surprised if we see his name again sometime in the future in connection with some lucrative appointment somewhere.   Contemptible slug
