There is no quick fix.

Which would be all well and good, if Islam didn't have access to modern weaponry and technology. The extremists inside Islam have never shown the slightest interest in evolving.

And the 'modernisation of Christianity was very long and bloody process, which, in a nuclear and CBW world, would not be confined purely to Islam, or the Middle East.

I'd put money on it that the Jews in the American elite are a part of this and many of the other decisions directed at this part of the world. Heading Israel's way is a major radical Islamic offensive being both well armed, well financed and well motivated. Do nothing ( I agree) but don't think it's going to end at Iraq and Syria. This is the start of a massacre.

Let's hope the Jews don't pop off a nuke if they come under major attack by ISIS. That might start off a chain reaction. It's a pretty bad destabilizing state of affairs. The middle east is well known as a great possibility for the place where the world ends.

What you are saying is no different to appeasers in the 30's insisting that Hitler slaughtering Jews is not their problem. This is not the sort of problem that will go away if we ignore it. The Iraqis could contain it, but when the yanks first started crapping on ISIS from a great height, it stopped them in their tracks. We are not even sending in ground troops. This is a training run for our air force.
