pretty sad the sore losers are tearing the place down now...

what is it about losing that people go crazy....as has been mentioned they are going to get greater control over their own future...so they really think they are able to take care of themselves????....

I am blowed if I understand what change they are looking for...what difference would it make to Mr and Mrs Average????.. they would end up with a massive bureaucracy to support for ever and a day.

England gives billions of pounds every year to Scotland in handouts.

The Barnett Formula also means that relatively wealthy Scotland receives more public spending per head of population than every other region of the UK, including POORER Wales and the English regions (like the North East and North West) which are also poorer than Scotland.

Scotland also takes more from the Treasury, every year, than it puts in.

The "freebies" that Scots enjoy - such as free university education, free medical prescriptions and free care for the elderly - are all paid for by the English taxpayer despite the fact that the English taxpayer also has to pay for those things the Scots get free.

"Scottish" oil is only able to be brought up from the North Sea thanks to massive English subsidies and English-based companies like BP.

The amount that is spent every year on socialist Scotland's massively bloated, over-generous welfare system is THREE TIMES that of the total annual North Sea oil receipts.

It would have been interesting to see how Scotland would have been able to bail out its banks, RBS and HBOS, when they crashed in 2008 had it been an independent country at the time. The cost of bailing those banks out was many times Scotland's entire GDP, so they were only able to be bailed out thanks to Scotland being part of the world's sixth-largest economy (fifth largest when it overtakes France soon).

Had Scotland been an independent nation state back in 2008 when its banks crashed it would have been stuffed.
