A source has revealed how the violence began in the maximum wing of the Goulburn facility about 3pm on Saturday when a number of ringleaders refused to line up for afternoon muster.

The source said the unrest had begun as a result of some privileges being requested — and denied — for a handful of inmates, but the situation quickly turned into a full-scale riot along religious lines

“They’d been knocked back something ...,” the source said. “The issue wasn’t a Muslim-related issue, but it was the Muslim guys who got into it, yelling out to Allah.

“They were refusing to go into their cells. They refused to line up, then it went from there and exploded.”

The prison officers had “geared-up” as soon as they sensed trouble.

Those inmates include Mohamed Ali Elomar who is serving a 21-year sentence for his leadership in the 2005 Pendennis terror plot.

He is the uncle of former boxer Mohamed Elomar, one of the Australian jihadis currently fighting with the Islamic State in Syria. Mohamed Elomar is with Khaled Sharrouf, who had been jailed along with Ali Elomar over the 2005 plot and fled overseas last year when he was released from jail.Following Saturday’s riots, seven ringleaders were segregated and four were seen by medical staff for minor injuries. Corrective Services NSW confirmed it had used chemicals on Saturday against inmates who caused damage but denied reports that it was religiously motivated.

“Inmate unrest began about 3pm yesterday after staff informed inmates in that yard that a good behaviour privilege was being withdrawn, due to earlier verbal abuse of correctional staff,” a spokesman said.

As I said elsewhere, muslims born of first cousins and with a proven IQ of 80 or less are like brat kids. They seek attention. Once they've popped out, their mothers are busy growing a new one. Big families are competitive environments. Loudest and baddest gets the lion's share of attention

But why are there so many muslim thugs in jails to begin with? Why do they drink, drug, rape, rob when their religion supposedly prohibits such activities?

Obviously their religion counts for nothing to muslim thugs

The story I enjoyed most in today's news was the death of one of those peaceful individuals (father of six, of course) who was KILLED while orchestrating a motor vehicle insurance scam

Gee I laughed

Good to see the Tele reporting things that didn't happen:

I believe those involved in September 11 were not involved too. A number of high profile Muslim terrorists still at large were also not involved in the riots. These terrorists have not yet expressed their solidarity with the Muslim rioters.

Muslim community leaders are silent on the issue. No mainstream Muslims have come out to condemn these riots. Relatives and close family of the rioters have not spoken out either.

Muslim community leaders and mainstream Muslims are still at large, pending arrest for terror-related or head-hacking charges.

Good point, PZ. Why are Muslims in jail to begin with? This highlights the criminal nature of Islam. Within Islam, crime is legal.

Yes, it's quite funny when one of them dies in a car accident. Islam, you see, has different road rules. As a martyr, I'm sure the father's children will be looked after.

Hopefully, they'll be behind bars soon too.

Ever see muslim girls at Aussie universities? See the make-up PILED on their faces? Then the lie of 'modesty' with the head scarves

Why the make-up if not to attract?

Seeking to attract is not 'modesty'

But what could you expect when you give unwarranted attention to a culture which is inferior in my opinion to those of the host nations

I'd vote for all muslims to be shipped out of the West and back to the dirt-tracks they came from

and 90% of Westerners feel the same

So let's do it

Then, once back in their one-goat villages, let's see if they want a war in any shape or form

If they do, I vote the West gives it to them, hard core

because I'm so tired of hearing that damn word -- muslims -- which no-one had to hear or think about until USrael decided perpetual war and conflict were profit without end

True, PZ. 90% of Australians want the constitution overturned to send Australian citizens to a country with dirt tracks for the crime of wearing make-up to uni.

I agree.

I'm sure there's a similar consensus to then invade them all, requiring Australia to go it alone on international law and declaring war on a whole range of countries - some armed with nukes - because you're sick of hearing that damned word "Muslims".

When shall we begin?
