Gillard, Rudd blackmailed me!

Julia Gillard says she promised to make Kevin Rudd foreign minister in order to stop damaging leaks that were destabilising her campaign in the 2010 election.

'I had no choice,' 'I had to stop the leaks and it was made abundantly clear to me that the kinds of things we'd seen with the leaks to (journalist) Laurie Oakes were just going to keep happening.'

After the promise, 'there were no further leaks'.

another case of selective memory...shes forgotten to mention the offices and cars and flights ministerial treatment even if he was on the backbench...

WOW how could anyone forget that?..

is this anothe r Latham Diaries..where its payback to all those nasty people in the Labor party who pretended to be their friends one minute then stabbing them in the back the next.....ooops Bill wonder how many chapters he gets.. Grin

It's good to hear it confirmed. I guess like many others Gillard was forced to form some kind of deal with Rudd - I know Stephen Smith was really piddled off to leave Foreign Affairs for Defence - to allow Rudd to take a plum position. Must have been a very tenuous position to lead a party under those circumstances
