Jail was never a real likelihood. I'm surprised a conviction was recorded, not that it makes any difference in the case of Slipper.

He has lost it all. His legal career, his political career, his health, maybe his sanity, his LNP associates, and his Wife. I wonder whether he has also lost a huge chunk of his parliamentary entitlements. This petty thief has been destroyed across the board, and yet his fellow thieving rorting mates are enjoying the high life of privilege.

maybe it's a mistake & his sentence will be increased to include jail time?
