Mr Cormann Should Face Up To His Unfair Budget

Mathias Cormann channels Arnie in 'girly man' attack on Bill Shorten

Date
    October 18, 2014

If Finance Minister Mathias Cormann wants to get away from his image as the Terminator of Australian politics, borrowing lines from Arnold Schwarzenegger is the wrong way to go about it.      Sad

Mr Cormann risked causing offence on Saturday by using the former California "Governator's" famous political attack line, "economic girly men".

"The problem that the Labor Party has today is that Bill Shorten is an economic girly man," Mr Cormann told Sky News on Saturday in his trademark European tones, often compared to Austrian-born Mr Schwarzenegger.

The former Mr Universe used the "girly man" line on numerous occasions but most famously at the 2004 Republican National Convention when he blasted pessimists on the US economy as girly men.

Mr Schwarzenegger was attacked by feminist groups and gay rights campaigners.

Belgian-born Mr Cormann was continuing the government's assault on Mr Shorten for blocking billions of dollars of savings measures in the Coalition's controversial first budget.

In the past, Mr Shorten has referred to the Finance Minister as "that Cormann fellow".

He counter-attacked on Saturday, saying that rather than "borrowing lines from Republican Tea Party conventions to joke about hurting vulnerable Australians", Mr Cormann should "face up to his unfair budget".

"It's obvious why Abbott government ministers are more interested in sexist name-calling than defending their unfair budget. This is the same bloke that was celebrating with a cigar in his mouth days before announcing cuts to pensions, family payments and universities," Mr Shorten said.      Sad

"Trying to trivialise the hurt and concern this budget is causing in the community, especially amongst women, is a disgrace.

"If the government found room in their cabinet for more than one woman, perhaps this budget wouldn't be such an unmitigated disaster."

Labor MP Ed Husic went immediately in to bat for his leader on Sky, advising Mr Cormann to concentrate on getting "the stink out of the budget".

Mr Husic said Mr Cormann should become "the deodoriser" rather than the Terminator.

"I think he should avoid the name calling and try and actually fix this stinker of a budget," Mr Husic said.      Sad

"Instead of some juvenile name calling, perhaps Mathias Cormann, who people like to liken to the Terminator, should become 'the deodoriser' and get the stink out of this budget."

Why is it an unfair budget? Oh yeah, that's right! Because the worst Treasurer in our history (Wayne Swan) couldn't balance a single budget - not even the one he inherited from Peter Costello, which had a considerable surplus and zero debt. Nor could he stop borrowing, with no plan to pay it back. Yeah, had the ALP had someone even half competent as Treasurer, the mess wouldn't be anywhere near as huge as it is now for Joe Hockey to clean up. Economic vandals? Labor massacred the budget and then went to work on the bones!

The unfair and unduly harsh Budget has had one effect—purses have slammed shut across the nation. Hello recession and deflation!

The Terminator: Why do you cry?

John Connor: You mean people?

The Terminator: Yes.

John Connor: I don't know. We just cry. You know, when it hurts.

The Terminator: Pain causes it?

John Connor: No, it's when there's nothing wrong with you, but you hurt anyway. You get it?

The Terminator: No.

That about sums it up...... the Cormannator is about as robotic as Arnie could ever be....

Now somebody explain to me again how the shaitan Western Australia elected him to the farken senate....

How the shaitan did he get past their alleged intellect?  The man has not one thing positive to offer anyone other than his allegiance to a party that some fools consider worthwhile.... where are his credentials to be in our Senate?

He can't stop. He's been wired that way and it wont change until the Daily Telegraph reprograms him which might be never. It's all a question of what Murdoch wants to do with him.

The FACT that Shorten and his cronies are blocking billions in budget savings (including those the ALP intended to introduce if re-elected) is not an excuse. It's a FACT.

Perhaps if the LNP wanted to chase some savings from the top end of town and not rape and pillage the lower socio economic you may find those in opposition, and that's not just Labor, because after all the LNP don't even need Labor to pass legislation, you may find them a little more receptive.  Speaks volumes when a self confessed Liberal , aka Clive, won't even back LNP  Wink

Why no mention of why Cormann made this comment? It was in reply to Shorten saying that Labor could get the budget back in to surplus before the Coalition. A most remarkable statement considering what fiscal failures Labor are. Seems NO media want to go there. Don't want to make Shorten look anymore stupid than he already is? All I can say is good comeback Matthias! Shorten is a fool and you need to address him in language he understands. LOL, he appears to understand now, whinging like a "girlie/man".

Corman has become quite literally a parody of himself:

Note the date of the video.
