I don't doubt there were cruel events by cruel people, but do you have any proof to substantiate that when the Irish, the Chinese, the Italians, the Greeks, the Yugoslavs, the Dutch, the Germans, etc.. migrated around the world in the past 50 years, they called for beheading & the wanton murder of innocents as retaliation for simply disagreeing with their ideological positions as the Islamists do today?

Channel Seven is bringing back the racist sitcom Love Thy Neighbour

Ok, that was enlightening, we all know the Poms are racists, always were, always will be, but what did that old sitcom, & Australian TV's rerunning it, have to do with the Failure of Multiculturalism, or the denial of it?

Really, I read the article, & Multiculturalism wasn't even mentioned at all in & of itself.

Don't make it so hard on yourself, so much so that you need to forgive yourself.

Maybe you thought I knew the show.

I suspect it would go over the heads of most here as well.

Multiculturalism worked with European immigrants because they were/are not significantly different from the host culture. It worked a little less well with the Chinese and the SE Asians because they are very different but culturally they are not separatists and they work like trojans. They are not trying to implement a communist systm here.

It is not working well with the devout Muslim because they do not want to assimilate like earlier migrants did because they do not want to submit Islam (which defines them and they define themselvs by it) to the host culture. This is why a lot of countries are questioning multiculturalism because of the Muslim immigrants among them.

It is no longer a defensible position to excuse Islam from critical scrutiny, Brain. Yes Hirsi Ali is not a terrorist, nor Dr Rifi.
Plenty others are so can we then get on with it and have a long hard look at the role of Islam in the daily atrocities committed in its name. Can we? Or is that unfair on Hirsi Ali and Rifi and his wife and so must pass over it in silence?

How devout are Muslims, Soren?

Average attendance at Mosques in Australia on a Friday every week is below 40%. Average attendance at Churches in Australia on Sundays is about 30%. How does an attendance 10% greater suddenly turn all Muslims into raving beheading demanding, fatwa decreeing unhumourous people? Roll Eyes

Obviously, the other 60% of Muslims who don't attend their Mosques regularly are not as devout as you appear to believe, Soren.
