You don't think that's a bit hypocritical? 1. - A flat out hallucination on your part. No force was exerted, nor was any bowed to. It was part of a Commonwealth exchange agreement between GB & Aus, which goes both ways, & ]does not include any cultural concessions. Australia has many such reciprocal financial agreements with other countries in our Commonwealth & elsewhere (USA for example - American Social Security payments are 'tax free' in Australia - not considered income for tax purposes or for Australian pension means testing purposes, etc..). 1.- Love how you skipped over the "voting rights" point. UK Immigrants who arrived before 1983 have full voting rights in Australia... Quote:2.- No such law exists that would force independent retailers to dedicate any portion of their operation in order to conform to anyone's cultural needs. 2.- Didn't claim it was "legally required". I did though make the point it was a "cultural concession". Something you claim to be against, forcibly.3.- So, how are you going to prevent such "cultural concessions"? BTW, they also exist for New Zealanders and South Africans over here in Perth.
1.- Voting Rights, Social Security, Visa-Less Travel....all part & parcel of that Commonwealth exchange agreement between GB & Australia I spoke of in my earlier answer. Do you read?? ....... Australia has many such reciprocal financial, & other agreements with other countries in our Commonwealth & elsewhere -- it's a Commonwealth Agreement.
It has nothing whatsoever to do with Multiculturalism, especially in the context of the Original Post, but I know you so want it to be ..... nice try, but not even close ---- soooo sorry, mate. http://www.smileyfaze.tk/slides/CatchTheNaNaNa_Smaller.gif
2.- The only way to force (your word, not mine) the only way to force someone to do something you suggest is to force them to do it through law .....
Now, just because a grocery store voluntarily sets aside space for say... oriental spices & such ..... fella, that's for me, that's for you, & that's for everyone who want to use them in, & with, their foods ... & the grocery store does it -- not as a "cultural concession" silly, they do it for profits .... it's Capitalism at it's best ..... if it makes money...sell it, if it doesn't....drop it.
JFYI --- Way more non-Orientals buy that stuff than Orientals anyway.
It's not a concession to them, its a marketing strategy & a win by the individual grocery store, & solely because it sells ...... get yer train back on track sonny, in yer desperation yer commin' off the rails! http://www.smileyfaze.tk/slides/lol015.gif
3.- There are no concessions, just mutually beneficial inter-Commonwealth agreements ..... NZ & RSA are also members of our Commonwealth of Nations.
You really auta get out more often fella, the real world is passin' ya by! http://www.smileyfaze.tk/slides/BigGrin02.gifBTW.... This isn't you, you are not the Brian Ross depicted here, it's another Brian Ross. http://imgur.com/yZcMokh.jpg http://www.smileyfaze.tk/slides/chuckle002.gif How old are you DreamryderX? Your continual use of crayon appears to show a mental age of about six. The fact that you claim one thing and then make exceptions for British/Kiwi/South Africans/etc. rather shows your prejudice. Here we go again ..... you can't intellectually refute the message,
so you attempt to attack the messenger.
