On the HECS credit system.

When you reach a certain amount of income, it's then you start repaying the government through a percentage of your wages.

Next question?

I saw your lips move, Herbie.

Stop trying to substantiate the rights  abhorrent behaviour over Gough, Matty,  we expect it from you.

I will ask yet again, what is wrong with criticising someone's performance as PM?

In a case where someone just died it would be handy to at least know what you are talking about when doing it.

Otherwise you end up just looking nasty and small like big mouth Andy B.

So it's okay to praise someone after they die, but not criticise them?

I think you will find that society deems it unnecessary and worse when it is just nasty and based on an absolute fact less bias driven by political dogma.

In a time of universal deceit — telling the truth is a revolutionary act.

No evidence whatsoever it can be attributed to George Orwell or Eric Arthur Blair (in fact the same guy)

Particularly when if Bolt was truly being objective he would have listed the things Gough may have done right, or suggested that Gough did them because he felt they were worth doing.

Yep, many people did in effect "dance on Margaret Thatcher's grave".

Since reasonable minded people (which most likely excludes the vast majority of people one eyed in their politics obviously) recognise this as trite, disrespectful and base behaviour, I can't for the life of me figure out why the "other team" committing such behaviour works as justification for the boot going into Gough....

If it is abhorrent behaviour, then by doing so, you are being abhorrent.... Why is that so hard to figure out - oh wait, blinded by ideological zeal and hatred, that'd do it...

I am sure that many felt well justified in their nastiness about Mrs Thatcher (whose political legacy I have no regard for) at the time of her death. Clearly, many in this thread have uttered the same ideas to "justify" their actions. Base and bloody minded moronic behaviour is all it ever is, regardless of the team you vote for.

Oh, and since Mrs Thatcher's death and fall out is part of the debate now, something the Gough knockers may need to come to terms with, here are a couple of quotes from back then. I have picked them because, for the present at least they have no mirror from team Right....

"And many Labour politicians posted messages of condolence while registering their opposition to her political values.

Shadow International Development Secretary Ivan Lewis urged all Labour supporters to respond to her death with “dignity and respect”. "

Sure, people still vented their spleens for a time, however, there were a couple of voices of reason....

Where are they in this thread?

I kind of see it this way, if you didn't get everything nasty said that you wanted to whilst they were alive, then you wasted your time. Have some respect for the family of the dead.

But the situations are not analogous. Where did you see anyone celebrating Whitlam's death?

They were analogous enough for team right whinge to bring into the debate, so in short, suck it up.

As to "celebrating" that is a matter of personal opinion to be frank. After all, some of the blatant denials of things Mr Whitlam achieved are, in effect an attack on him.

The bottom line NO ONE from the Right is calling for decorum.... That is the nature of the Right, actually that is the nature of being one eyed, so the left are in there too, just to be clear.

Nothing Matty, over half the country are criticising phoneys. Did you see he has lost thirteen news polls in a row Marcia?

That's right, avoid the question.

Apart from the point where he said nothing is wrong with it. Answer given, please move on, nothing to see here.

Then why make a whole thread about it?

I thought you would like to see Bolts wife thinks he is an arrogant  obnoxious asshole too.. No pleasing some girls.
But hey, what really amazes me is how a thread like this that I whipped up in a nano second gets to be over ten pages long yet a totally relevant thread like the one about the current government having lost thirteen polls straight and looking like no chance of turning things around is  lucky  to get to two pages. The conga line don't like to discuss reality it scares them. Instead of socking up and backing yourself up with your sox by pissing in your own pockets, longweekend and Matty, how about growing a set!

Matty’s parents paid, like all good students. Matty does not support government assistance in this area.

Matty left his studies to travel to Dunedin and Newport. His parents can afford it.

I thought Matty was studying at Oxford courtesy of a Rhodes Scholarship recommended by no other than George Pell who just happens to be Mattys godfather
