Tony Abbott has love in his eyes; Denis Napthine, the object of his affection,
looks like a turtle trying to recoil into a shell.

For weeks the premier has desperately tried to reassure voters he is acting in Victoria's best interests, despite belonging to the same political party as Abbott.

That means strictly no touchy-feely stuff with the PM, who is polling disastrously in Victoria. The thinking is that Abbott is only welcome in Victoria if he has something positive to contribute, like a lot of money.

Indeed, the relationship is now so awkward Napthine this week refused to say whether Abbott will be invited to address his campaign launch next month.

Abbott says he will attend, international travel commitments permitting.

In pointing the finger at Putin Abbott was only doing what his US handlers were telling him to do.  Unfortunately his US handlers in not coming up with a modicum of proof have left him out in the cold.

It is also interesting to note that the Irish Times has reported just 6 days ago, "The Dutch investigators have been scrupulous not to apportion blame on the basis of incomplete evidence."

That's the bottom line.

Abbott is just making himself look more stupid (if that's possible) by insisting on repeating US propaganda. I really don't think Putin would be a man that tolerates fools easily.
