Do you really see nothing wrong with this? It isn't rational behaviour to pick and flick applicants for a position based purely on their name.

What are you basing this on? Every time I've been to a government service recently, they have been predominantly anglos.

Do you think that all aboriginal names are like Namatjira, Gulpilil, Galarrwuy, Gurrumul or Mandawuy Yunupingu, Mulrunji Doomadgee, Bennelong, Jacky Jacky, Pemulwuy, Truganini etc?

Most have anglo names now & very few are still tribal & having traditional names ....

though quite a few have bastardised their anglo names to make them sound like traditional aboriginal names. Roll Eyes

Oh I do apologise - the thread was going so well since you started it with your - totally not snyde at all - opening post.

You cannot help people who wont be helped. we have incentive programs just to get these people to send their kids to school for a few days a month and then when they are 18 cannot get jobs because they cannot read and write their own name or count past 3. if, after 200 years, you cannot convince these people to even go to school, then there is a long struggle ahead. and it is their own fault; their own laziness born from a dysfunctional and failed culture. the people themselves are fine. their culture however, is not.

Translations for the people irritated with the superfluous pretentious superiority complex tone of it is the light's message:

White man, wakes up. Feels inferior that he isn't a religious fanatic. Asks superstitious non-white people to accept him into their social group. Is reluctantly accepted, as long as the standards are lowered by him. Non-white people feel validated for white man's concessions.
