It's already been established: there's nothing malicious about 1227.com. Enter the site into virustotal.com if you don't believe me.

SpecialCharacter/shirtfront maintains it not be from him by claiming different time, however Oz Politics shows it being posted in at and earlier time to that SpecialCharacter claim is his post of no virus!

A gif image file is an very unlikely vector. Your web browser would have to be vulnerable to crafted gifs. I haven't heard of anything like that recently and should rarely cause a problem if your software is up to date.
