My parents came from the experience of wars.


They worked and own a house with a 1/4 acre block which was bought around 1961. They paid their taxes, lived a normal clean existence.
The was no social security except their now aged pension which is fair enough given the fact they worked.

Have seen a few generations living off social security, never having a job, on the dole and now a few years short of aged pension.

I am not knocking the Social Security system, it has it's place in Australia, it's better than Anarchy or smashing windows to get food at Coles and share it with everyone else in a non violent scenario. Any living organism will get a little pissed of for lack of protein, just take enough and share the rest.

That's the problem with Australia, the equal share of jobs and wealth has been sold to overseas interests by those who wanted the proteins more than most did here due to Social Security generated Complacency.

Australia is SOLD OUT.

Moral

You can give a man a fish to feed him for one day,
but if you teach him how to fish, he can feed himself for a lifetime and teach others to do the same.

but if you teach him how to fish

If we all worked 100 hour weeks from when the first boatload of Mediterranean Australians arrived in the 50s,....guess what? ....they would have brought them in anyway. In fact. We didn't even have the welfare culture BEFORE they started mass immigration and free trade.
