Sydney siege: reports of hostage situation inside Martin Place cafe

A GUNMAN is reportedly holding people hostage at a cafe in Sydney’s Martin Place.
Channel 7 reported that an armed man is holding hostages at the Lindt Chocolate cafe, opposite the broadcaster’s Martin Place studios.
A NSW Police spokeswoman told Guardian Australia police were responding to an “unfolding” situation in Martin Place.
She would not confirm social media reports that a gunman was in the area, merely that it was an “ongoing operation.”

"summarily execute" ?

That's what terrorists do.

Let's just round them up and send them to jail, and not lower ourselves to their level.

The question begs:

Why are the idiots of the Abbott government allowing Muslims to return to Australia after having served time fighting for ISIS and other extremist militia groups?

If this is the case here, then I hope the hostages and their families sue the pants off the Abbott government.

Guess how the allies won the Second World War?

Guns. Bombs. Shooting.

They 'lowered' themselves to fight the enemy on their own terms ... and that's why your sorry arse is alive and well and looking for clients.

yes you are right.  Like everyone else (well most people anyhow) I am sick of ISIS and just want the bombings to quadruple and the ground troops to go in and annihilate them.  and here in Oz, build a jail just for them and put all their supporters in there.

personally, I hope who ever is doing this siege comes out in a body bag.

ZERO TOLERANCE.

Anybody who supports "summarily executing" people is no better than a terrorist.

It seems that this thread has exposed a few terrorist sympathisers already.

I'm sure more will reveal themselves as the day progresses.

if you fight for these groups and return here you will be charged and jailed.  that is the law.  the problem that seems to have escaped your attention is that none of them have returned.

Because, it's the PC thing to do. You're forgetting the party line. Sit down, have some goat's milk, and repeat after me... Nothing to do with Islam... It's whitey's fault... Nothing to do with Islam... Blame whitey... Not Islam...

No. I deplore all acts of terrorism, and all terrorists.

I also deplore summary executions.

By calling for summary executions, you have revealed to everyone this morning that you are no better than a terrorist.

You are a true terrorist sympathiser, and Herbie seems to support you.

I'm sure more of your kind will reveal themselves as the day progresses.

The ISIL flag statement originally came from the TV channels, but they have now changed their story and they are saying it isn't an ISIL flag.

However, the TV channels are till saying the flag is a jihadist flag.

This is news to me. So, for the record, you deplore these terrorists, even if they turn out to be Muslim?

I can't wait for these f*ers to get to gaol. I'm sure the inmates will give them a very, very warm welcome. I for one propose them sharing a cell in the bikie block. With early parole for whoever reports their untimely demise.

which part of 'knee-jerk reaction' do you not understand???  or did my extensive participation in the anti death penalty thread that we were both in completely skip your attention?

for someone who claims such education you are truly appalling at understanding literary devices and context.
