I was just thinking (no, hold the applause) about how dreadfully ironic it would be if this bloke was actually trying to curry support for the anti-islam brigade by pretending to be a terrorist. I believe this sort of thing is called a "false-flag" op.

Oh no, let's not get into the whole Islam-is-a-religion-not-a-race discussion again, shall we?

How is a single Muslim hostage taker going to do his prayers?

Possible but a long stretch... seems more like some individual with a funny idea of making a statement or being a martyr for something he has yet to specify....

You can combine prayers in special circumstances.

That should give him until after 8pm tonight before he has to do any for today (excluding fajr prayer this morning).

It's covered under the Racial Discrimination Act.  I agree it isn't a race, any more than Judaism but the they threw religion and race in all together under the one act, so thats the title used.

Not sure - its something he'll have to negotiate with The Almighty when he faces him (which may not be too long).

In any case, he still has until around 4:30pm even without combining.

Does the koran offer any guidance as to what constitutes special circumstances? Or does one have to turn to the imams for that?

That sounds like an act of terrorism to me.

Do we have a potential terrorist in our midst?

commonsense

You're even talking like a terrorist now.

Terrorists want to blow up buildings, and have no concern for innocent people who may be killed. According to them, it's just a commonsense thing.

Sprint wants to blow up buildings, and has no concern for  innocent people who may be killed. According to Sprint, it's just common sense.

Not even the same!
