We are well and truly stuffed now.  If you're in Sydney, evacuate immediately!  Run for your lives!  The B-52s are on their way!

Grin

I was just thinking (no, hold the applause) about how dreadfully ironic it would be if this bloke was actually trying to curry support for the anti-islam brigade by pretending to be a terrorist. I believe this sort of thing is called a "false-flag" op.

Possible but a long stretch... seems more like some individual with a funny idea of making a statement or being a martyr for something he has yet to specify....

What if it's a hold up gone wrong?   Grin Grin Grin Cheesy Cheesy Cheesy

you go to a holdup carrying an Islamic flag???

It's his flag, is it?

They keep one in the shop incase a Muslim terrorist wants to put the place in lockdown and forgot to bring his own.

Do they?

Where are you getting this information from?

All I've heard is that a gunman has hostages, and that a flag was held up in the window.

Please reveal your source so that we can all keep up to date with this story.

Do elaborate.

I was pretty clear.

Some bloke is possibly holding as many as 40 people hostage with a real possibility that their lives are in serious danger. He has caused the biggest city in the country to come to a standstill and left millions of people worried. But to you, the response to this is worse then the act itself.

Would you like to elaborate on what "response" exactly has you so concerned that it is worse than what this insane bastard has done so far?

Dare I ask where are you going with this light?

Is the gunmen really the governor of the RBA?

There's one vital fact we're all missing and I reckon this is the vital clue of what lies at the bottom of all this

You can combine prayers in special circumstances.

That should give him until after 8pm tonight before he has to do any for today (excluding fajr prayer this morning).

Is hostage taking one of those circumstances?

Not sure - its something he'll have to negotiate with The Almighty when he faces him (which may not be too long).

In any case, he still has until around 4:30pm even without combining.

Does the koran offer any guidance as to what constitutes special circumstances? Or does one have to turn to the imams for that?

Its discretionary - based on common sense.

You do your best to do all your prayers, but within reason.

If he missed morning prayer Satan will urinate in his ear.

taken 50 people hostage on a Monday Morning in Sydney........is nothing to concern anyone I guess you mean...or at least... carry on business as usual its only a gunman with close association with a terrorist group...unless they should ignore the FLAG which is very prominent as well..??

if they have BOMBS attached as well as guns...

is this still an overreaction?????

I am just asking....about your reaction thats all.

Where are you people getting all this information from?

I've been checking the ABC.

Should I be listening to Kochie instead?

latest news says 50... and lets hope there is nothing to concern us with!  Roll Eyes Roll Eyes

it must be over reaction as now they are making jokes about it.. Roll Eyes Roll Eyes

once again this reaction kind of sux to me.

I wonder what the families of those hostages would do if they could meet someone called spartacus 2. I guess they could all sit down and have a bloody good laugh together. Angry

Sydney siege: reports of hostage situation inside Martin Place cafe

A GUNMAN is reportedly holding people hostage at a cafe in Sydney’s Martin Place.
Channel 7 reported that an armed man is holding hostages at the Lindt Chocolate cafe, opposite the broadcaster’s Martin Place studios.
A NSW Police spokeswoman told Guardian Australia police were responding to an “unfolding” situation in Martin Place.
She would not confirm social media reports that a gunman was in the area, merely that it was an “ongoing operation.”

your posts on MH17 pretty much prove at least some of the above.

He laughed it off as a "knee-jerk reaction".

It's all to do with "literary devices and context", so he says.

I'll let others be the judge.

literary devices and context? yesterday he was claiming it was satire ....  Cheesy Cheesy Cheesy
