The whole point of creating incident like this is because these people want to create division within our society through ways of fear, and so that we also become as intolerant as they are.

If today, we use this incident to further divide between our pitiful differences, then they have won already.

Instead, we should unite together through courage.

The flag reads the standard Muslim text:-

"There is no God but Allah and Muhammad is the Messenger of Allah"..

or thereabouts... standard text on a black flag....

Good coverage on ABC.....

Why is it not surprising to see the usual culprits blaming all Muslims for the acts of a tiny minority?   Guilt by Association, the usual line for bigots and 'phobes.   Grin Grin Grin Cheesy Cheesy Cheesy Grin Grin Grin

is it or is it not muslims ?

What is?  Do you have any proof that the perpetrators are in fact Muslims?  Anybody can buy a flag and hang it in the window.

Even if they are Muslims, why do you assume they are actually either (a) observant or (b) following the mainstream interpretation of that religion?

Your bias and bigotry is well known Sprint.  You are an Islamophobe.  You will I expect blame all Muslims for this in your usual idiot idea of Collective Guilt.    Grin Grin Grin Cheesy Cheesy Cheesy

are you dumb or what???  an ISIS flag in the window and you don't think they are muslims??

A flag doesn't prove, in any way, what religion they are.

They might be Muslims, they might not be.

Ultimately, it's irrelevant: it's the kidnapping/terrorism/siege which is the major concern.

From the Live ABC news feed on this seige:
Quote:
Lebanase Muslim Association president Samier Dandan says Australian Muslim leaders are meeting online now to see if the community can help.

Mr Dandan says it is not known who is behind the siege and whether there are any links to the Australian Muslim community.

"But regardless we have a hostage situation. Whether he is someone who belongs to the Australian Muslim community or not, we are still waiting for information to be provided by police and based on that if there's something the Muslim community can do or assist, we are there."

Obviously the majority of Muslims do not support these perpetrators.   They are as alarmed and pissed off as all Australians are.   Angry Angry Angry Angry Angry Angry Angry Angry

Why didn't these dudes just do what the majority of Islamic terrorists do, that is just be suicide bombers. That is how they create the most fear with greatest impact...I reckon these dudes are rank amateurs...or on someones payroll.

Gee, you are not suggesting that Credlin and the PMO is involved in this are you?

With the budget that was dropped today I'd be looking at any option for a distraction...wouldn't want to be called a hypocrite for not being able to make surplus! Lips Sealed

Could be idiots thought-bubbling (bubbles in the brain) that they are 'muslim' and can 'make a statement'.

No word yet on any contact....... no media statements released.. no demands.. no rhetoric of oppression etc out to the media...doesn't sound too professional....  probably homegrown fools ...

So, we both deplore all forms of terrorism and both want to see all terrorists and their supporters rounded up, put before the courts, and then sent to jail.

So, in answer to my earlier question, do you still hold this view if the terrorists are professing muslims?

Let me repeat:  I deplore all acts of terrorism, and all terrorists.

That includes Christians, Buddhists, Muslims, atheists, blacks, whites, Asians, women, men, etc.

When I say "all", I mean all.

Is this a case of Muslim terrorism?

I don't know.

Moreover, the religion of the perpetrators is not of any real concern to me.

It's the hostages that I'm worried about (and I don't know their religion either - should I?).

Precisely my thoughts, too. Hanging a flag up indicates that it's ideologically motivated. Classic amateur attack.
