The same reason the LibLabs let Nazi war criminals live the good life in Australia, whatever that reason was, I missed it, something to do with the law I think, the law that says even Nazi war criminals and Muslim terrorists have a right to citizenship and to keep it no matter what. Time that law was modified to exclude trouble makers

The power given to the Fed Parliament regarding migration is summed up by only two words in the Aust Constitution: "(xxvii) immigration and emigration;"

The Parliament shall, subject to this Constitution, have power to make laws for the peace, order, and good government of the Commonwealth with respect to: .....(xxvii) immigration and emigration;

These two words alone without any amendments is why there is so much discontent and discord about the LibLab immigration policy, there is simply too much power given to them. They can bring in who they like when they like rejecting all protests on matters of quality and quantity ... and on the other hand (emigration), they have the power the build a "Berlin" walls, if they so wish

So, the policy needs amending to something that makes sense

Great, suicide by police. Turning Terrorists into instant martyrs. What happens if the rig themselves with a suicide vest with a "deadman's switch"? You shoot them, the pressure is released and BOOM! Up they and everybody else goes.

You're assuming they could see into the shop and that the gunman was so visible that they could get a clear shot. How do you know that was possible? Were you there? Of course bloody not. What I hate is people who were watching vicariously through their television telling people who were there what decision they should have made in hindsight, when they have no pressure and lives don't depend on their decisions. Idiot. Grin

Most likely it was the spotter and not the shooter who called 'Hostage down' - media find it difficult to differentiate between the two... it could have happened so fast that the shooter did not have time to line up a shot and he could not take a shot that was not clear.

Wisdom after the event is never 100% - it is only flawed, and only the person on the spot can make the decision.... and then live with it.

In retrospect, with no bomb present, a sniper shot would be the best option early in the piece - but the police could not make that call while a bomb could have been there.

It just doesn't work that way in real life.

I'm only saying a thousand rounds - not sure how many - but it was one hell of a lot of automatic fire.... just a guess...

With all that lead flying around it's amazing there weren't more hit....

Suggestions that the amount of gunfire indicates this was a set-up scenario acted out by Mossad or whoever is silly.

Most fired on full auto... one on single shots.. one in short, discrete bursts of 3-4 rounds. The full auto would be to keep the bustard's head down... the real close-in shooters were the two experts with controlled fire...
