What would the numbers be like if it wasn't the religion of peace??

Sydney siege ends: gunman inspired by IS but driven by personal crises

Politically motivated Islamist terrorist or a disturbed individual consumed by personal crises looking to end his life in a blaze of publicity?

Sydney siege gunman Man Haron Monis was a combination of both.

But his late conversion to the brutal interpretation of Sunni Islam popularised by Islamic State and the manner of his attack suggests to terrorism analysts that he had few, if any, deep connections to IS, also known as ISIL.

"This is a person in personal crisis, at the end of his tether. He was looking for attention and a way out," said Adam Dolnik from the University of Wollongong, a terrorism analyst who has advised more than 50 governments on counter-terrorism and hostage negotiations.

"It wasn't unlike most of the hostage situations that police deal with that don't involve politically-motivated violence."

many blessings

the media is attempting to spin it that way

yet many are watching now ... footy season is over

and as such all eyes on point now ...

this fiasco and false flag is unravelling very quickly

some religious zealots are in discomfort ..

so be it

Aren't you lucky you live here Gregg and not in the Middle East. If those nasty little ISIS people got hold of you, you wouldn't be long for this world. Gay pride doesn't rate too high with Islam.

Settle down Red!

No need for that shiiiit!

Red likes to call people gay when he's backed into a corner.

For some reason, he thinks it's an insult.

(Just between you and me, I think it might be a fishing exercise)

Well, gweggowy, if you don’t think it is true then you think what you want.

I'd think it were true if you could provide the proof.

"It’s like gravity or time - you just know it" doesn't really cut it with me, I'm sorry.

If that were the case, I could say "Soren, Data and Longy are gay lovers (not that there's anything wrong with that) who often invite underage boys into their basement on Sunday nights" and never be challenged on it, just by saying "It’s like gravity or time - you just know it.".

Not that I would say such a thing, of course.

Let me know if you come up with something, though.  I'll be here.

Oh the ironing.

Oh dear.

Is it a brain tumor that ails you?

There's sure to be plenty of room for it to grow, so you can probably put off that trip to the doctor for a few months.

Sounds fairly mild compared to the million Iraqis killed by Bush and Howard.

Perhaps we can spare a thought for the 50 million Christians killed by other Christians during WWI or the 30 million Christians killed by other Christians in WWII.

Christians have killed at least 100 million in the past century.

Which religion is the "death cult"?

Abbott promised no tax hikes & no cuts to the ABC

There's a 'budget emergency', so we will give $9 billion to the Reserve Bank, spend $12 billion on some dubious jets, $2 billion to bomb Iraq, etc.

Bingo.  Any excuse.

This lunatic would have hurt other people, no matter what religion he was.

That is presumptive and not even likely to be true.  Since his motivations were entirely religious (which you will not doubt dispute) then his religion can certainly take some of the blame.

Religion was the excuse he used yesterday.

He has an extensive list of criminal charges, and he was a nutter.

If Islam didn't exist, he would have used something else as an excuse to commit his crime yesterday.

Stop making excuses for criminals.

Why does Islam lend itself to 7 murders an hour, but not other religions?  The data gathered by the BBC found that 5,042 people were killed in 664 jihadist attacks across 14 countries - a daily average of 168 deaths, or seven every hour.

Take pause to think about your family and how lucky you are to have them, cherish them and put  the minor things in the bin where they belong.

The outpouring of love in the form of floral tributes at Martin Place says it all.

Just how do you get one of these 'counter-terrorism and hostage negotiations' jobs?  I'm looking for a bit of extra pocket money.

Like, it's supposed to be 'counter-terrorism' -- Monis should have had every alarm bell on the planet ringing.  Supposedly ASIO had a file on him; he was reporting to the police every day.  Even the Muslim community had warned the government about him as early as 2007 and again in 2008.

mmmm.....it looks like our protectors have been slack (to say the least). Close the gate after the horse has bolted.

Too much cigars and champagne and not enough time spent on the job?????? I worked alongside the ASIO blokes in the eighties, that's when ASIO was a secret (sssshhhhhhh) they were definitely rejects from somewhere, no one could figure out where though. The mental hospitals were closed down around that time......maybe?

If we are relying on these people for our security....God help us!
