Master herbert,

They should send Kochie or Karl Stefanovic in. They'd both either sort it out or get shot -- a win-win if there was ever one.

It's his policy that caused this, least he could do is swap himself for hostages , the coward will be on TV instead

Grin

The only thing that would be better would be sending Mr Abbott in.

I'm sure we will. The gunmen have asked to speak to Mr Abbott.

If he resolves this hostage crisis, he'll be seen as a tall glass of water.

Thank you for your wise words, suppository. You added a lot to the discussion with that last post.

Which building is likely to be easier to gain access to by terrorists? A cafe or the Reserve Bank of Australia? God, you're a m-o-r-o-n!!! Roll Eyes

Anybody carrying a kalashnikov can probably get into any building he wants.

The speaker I referred to mentioned a likely target was a place that carried authority, the RBA or some of the other buildings in/around Martin Place.

I am getting rather tired of the abuse from the right whingers here and will refer any further abuse to 2-3 Mods—fair warning!

Reports indicate he is armed with a shotgun, not an AK-47. Also, terrorists traditionally attack softer targets to increase their chances of success. Stop trying to pass yourself off as an expert, ok?

Thanks for the lack of abuse.

I am not trying to pass myself off as an expert, I was quoting someone on ABC24 earlier.

Ok StG, but next time you're quoting someone, accepted practice is to:

1. Use the quote tags, and
2. Provide a link

Otherwise, people think you're writing what you think.

That's right. All Mr Abbott has to do is talk some sense into these fellows and get them to release the hostages. Maybe he can give them a helicopter or something to make their gettaway.

Abbott actually spoke pretty well, for once he must have listened to the briefings.

There, I said it and I think he is a destructive monkey but today he did good.

Who said he has an AK47?

If you want to own an AK47 you have to move to where they are allowed which would be just about anywhere n the Middle east.

The Americans can't even buy an AK47 for self defence yet an Iraqi in Iraq can.

They are poo rifles, they shoot a rainbow trajectory and my .243AI probably hits much harder while shooting much flatter.

6MOA accuracy means it could hit about 2ft away from where you were aiming at 400yards.

The reports I have heard mention shotgun and pistol, I wonder if he has a license for them and are they registered.

Leftists and the Ayatollahs have a lot in common when it comes to criticism of Islam, they don't tolerate it.

Which would be of great comfort to someone with one pressed into his neck, I'm sure.

If not, he could be up for a few hundred dollars in fines.

This could be a bad day for him.
