ANYTHING can be in the mince in mince pies—lips and arseholes and god knows what.

I want to make some great pies this winter.

Buy a heap of blade steak, $20/Kg, and cube some and mince some and away we go. Should have a ton of fresh herbs from the garden.

I like Vilis curry beef pie (SA brand,) so make some curry beef and, why not, some chicken curry pies.

Why not read and consider what I post?

Buy some better crockery—look for something nice and thinly potted—Lindau Thai bone china can be bought cheap on eBay and is nice and thin.

Look for a bulk butcher, buy meat cheaply. Considering your age (not an insult) eat more veges and fruit, choose white meat rather than red meat. More leafy green veges be good, brassicas, chard, endive, lettuce, aliums good too. Farmers markets supply really fresh veges as well as other items.

Buy a little barista machine and really good coffee—they can grind it to use in a french press or for espresso.

Eat 2-3 oranges a week.
