and that has been long since debunked.  extreme weather events have not increased and in fact have very slightly DECREASED.  Temperature records often say in screaming headlines "RECORD TEMPERATURE" while the body of the article says 'hottest since 1939' or whatever or even more ludicrously 'hottest day since 2010'.

What were you saying about 18 years and one month without warming?

18 years out of  4,540,000,000

Grin

AGW ~ Anthropogenic Global Warming

Were humans pumping out massive amounts of greenhouse gas 4,539,999,999 years ago?

I don't know.

Do you?

Do you know what the temperature was 4,539,999,999 years ago?

Humans were not around then, so couldn't be.

You know that for a fact, do you?

Do you know for a fact what the temperature was 4,539,999,999 years ago?

Do I have to know.

Yes, in order to know whether this has happened before or not.

You're just making assumptions at this stage.

Assumptions based on basic chemistry, the effects of human caused deforestation, and the science of specialised scientists within their fields.

it remains true and still is.  Even the graph demonstrates my point.  I could explain it to you but it would require a grade 8 education and a sense of honesty, both of which you lack in spades.

Yeah by selectively picking 18 years and one month to back up a out dated position.

Yet there has been warming in the last 18 years and one month.

You have nothing now.
2015, the year denialism went extinct.

Still just assumptions, though.

And human decisions are made on them.
Humans geo engineering with heat trapping greenhouse gas and deforestation has the effect of heating the planet, as temperature records are showing.

Action on this hypothesis via reducing human greenhouse gas and deforestation, do you oppose this step?

With 2014 in the books, it's officially taken the title of hottest year on record. That ranking comes courtesy of data released Monday by the Japan Meteorological Agency (JMA), the first of four major global temperature record keepers to release their data for last year.

The upward march of the world’s average temperature since 1891 is a trademark of human-influenced global warming with 2014 being the latest stop on the climb. All 10 of the hottest years have come since 1998.

What now AGW denialists, who claimed warming had stopped ... no warming since 2014?

Greeny, you've got a problem with your chart there. You've posted the wrong one. That looks like a chart of global economic activity, not temperatures. Undecided

I still want to see other sources of data before I take a graph with such little data seriously.  Given the previous 18 years had no warming and 2014 is supposed 0.05 degrees warmer it is hard to take this seriously. It could be an anomaly, it could be fraudulent (plenty of that has happened before), it could be a mistake.  either way, ONE DATA POINT does not make a trend.

I would also point out that we have heard this same story about 2011, 2012 and 2013 and it turned out to not be true.  I don't expect this to be any different.

Hmmm.

Human Industrialisation ... polluting massive amounts of greenhouse gas has it's effects.

Very difficult to say if it's had any effect on temperatures, seeing as we are only looking at 120 years out of 4,540,000,000.

Yet human industrialisation isn't 4,540,000,000 years old.

We don't know that. How do we know what civilizations in the past did? How do we know that Atlantis or Mu weren't industrial societies? How do we know the Aborigines didn't cause global warming? We don't have the figures.

I agree, Longy. Greens' graph is just leftard nonsense. The previous 18 years of global temperature rises don't count when it's only ONE DATA POINT.

I concur with one of your previous arguments. The steady rise in average  temperatures over the last 18 years is actually evidence of global cooling, not global warming.

The problem with the leftards is they refuse to look at the maths.

Idiots.

Exactly. We've actually had much nicer weather over the past 18 years. The naysayers are miserable grumps who just want something to complain about.

I mean, really. It's just hysterics. If you can't handle a minor bushfire, go and live on an island. And if you can't handle the minuscule rising sea level, head for the mainland. And if you can't handle a tiny typhoon, go and live in a mountain cave or something.

And if you can't handle the floods and landslides, kill yourself.

Idiots.

Your making silly arguments pecca - in science there is precious little we know "for a fact", those sort of absolutes are the realm of mathematics. In science we go by the weight of evidence, and the weight of evidence is heavilly - indeed about as heavilly as it can be weighted - in favour of human induced warming.

Also, we do have evidence of what the temperatures were prior to a century ago in ice cores.
