Guesstimates, at best.

You know that for a fact, do you?

Do you know for a fact what the temperature was 4,539,999,999 years ago?

Your making silly arguments pecca - in science there is precious little we know "for a fact", those sort of absolutes are the realm of mathematics. In science we go by the weight of evidence, and the weight of evidence is heavilly - indeed about as heavilly as it can be weighted - in favour of human induced warming.

Also, we do have evidence of what the temperatures were prior to a century ago in ice cores.

you were doing well until the highlighted nonsense.  IN fact the opposite is true.  the evidence linking human beings as the substantial cause of warming - all 0.8 degrees of it is circumstantial at best and in actual science terms NONEXISTENT.  To be fair, it is an incredibly complex hypothesis to prove bit that doesn't make the statement any more true.

The proof of ACC is non-existent.  a grand total of 0.8 degrees of warming over 60 years and nearly two decades of stagnant rises all point to a limited or zero correlation between humans and any warming.

Sorry, Longy, are you saying we’ve had a 0.8 degree rise in average temperature in the last 18 years?

I’m sorry, but that’s just not possible. There has been NO WARMING in the past 18 years. In fact, there is evidence of significant COOLING.

Please correct your maths.

I know, Longy, but consider your maths. The stable rate of a 0.8 degree rise in 18 years would result in a 4 degree rise in less than a century.

This, of course, is only the average globally. In some places, the warming will be higher. This would push Summer temperatures in some parts of the world above 55 degrees in 90 years time. Such temperatures would wreak havock on human societies, causing deaths from the heat alone, forgetting about the damage to agriculture and other environmental problems.

This won’t do, Longy. You must change the maths.

Victoria experienced hottest daytime temperatures on record in 2014, BOM annual report reveals

Victoria recorded its hottest year on record for maximum daytime temperatures in 2014, the Bureau of Meteorology's (BOM) annual report has revealed.

The state also recorded the second warmest year on record for mean temperatures, and the third warmest for minimum temperatures.

The mean maximum temperature was 1.53 degrees Celsius above average, the Bureau of Meteorology found.

Longy, your own maths show that in one hundred and eighty years, the earth will be 8 degrees warmer on average.

If this isn’t hysterical I don’t know what is. For God’s sake, we need urgent action.

Hurry up and change the maths, Longy.

Longy relies on maths. So what if Victoria has the highest temperatures in 136 years?

The earth was once a ball of molten fire. What was the temperature back then?

Longy can show that the earth has been cooling for the last 4 billion years. Do the maths on that, leftards.

Your Master proved that the world split like a cell in 2012. It can’t be hard to shut the idiots up once and for all using maths.

Some would prefer a terrorist attack, but I’d prefer to use reason and logic.

If Longy can come up with the right formula, the idiots will leave this thread.

BOM needs to come clean on their methodology as their credibility is lower than green pond slime. Until they do we will treat all press releases as works of fiction.

It’s ridiculous, isn’t it? Fancy the Bureau of Meteorology being tasked with measuring the weather.

I’d prefer the Institute of Public Affairs, but that’s just me.
