Better: The Daily Mail.

"British newspaper aimed at conservative, middle class housewives."

Perfect for Herbie.

http://www.urbandictionary.com/define.php?term=daily%20mail

"It claims to be a moral voice of the people but is in fact a paper designed to indulge the quasi-racist/homophobic/bigotted views held by much of middle england."

Sound like anyone we know?

"The Daily Mail burns rather nicely and is just the right size to cover cat litter trays."

After watching Gandalf and Brian insist over many pages that the Malaysian Muslims do not really mean it when they say they support the death penalty for apostasy, I discovered that one state in Malaysia (which is dominated by Muslims) had actually passed the death penalty for apostasy into law, and was only stopped by the federal constitution they had inherited from Britain.

so its not legaL to kill someone for apostasy in Malaysia then. Glad we cleared that up. Could have sworn I stated that at the start of your little argument over a law which doesnt exist.

its fear that they control with.....and lack of education although I believe the Catholic church has its quirky little punishments and look at the Seventh Day Adventists..

its peoples thinking they mess with.....so many tell their flock how to dress what time to eat or even turn over in bed....Islam is not alone..

The state legislature passed the law - reflecting the locals' support. The federal constitution - inherited from Britain, ie not devised by the locals - stood in the way.

What does that tell you about the local SUPPORT for the death penalty for apostasy? It tells me it's strong.  It also tells me that it is the Britannic inheritance that prevented the Malays to make their support into binding law.

Which state was that, FD?

I discovered that the death penalty in Malaysia is administered by the High Court. There are only two High Courts in Malaysia, and none come under state jurisdiction.

I’m sure FD will tell us how such a law could have been passed (before being overturned as unconstitutional).

FD couldn’t possibly be confusing laws that are passed with laws that are suggested by radical fringe groups. He’s not adverse to a bit of taqiyya, but he’s not that dumb.

Here’s the old boy providing us with some clarification. It will be good to find out which state passed this law so we can settle the matter once and for all.

Perhaps the old boy can fill us in.
