Me too. Let’s hope he doesn’t accidentally commit apostacy and get executed under a non-existent state law.

It will be good to find out which state passed this law so we can settle the matter once and for all.

Both Kelantan and Terrenganu states have hudud laws on the statutes. Purely symbolic though as they never did and never will have any chance of actually being implemented.

Do any of the Hudud laws include the death penalty?

Heard pickering used to be married to a muslim malay lady.

Ive been to KL and penang, beautiful places.

So have I.

Mosquitoes, humidity, endemic corruption, and it's the children who have to support their parents in their old age ... an absolute paradise.

And now the Muslim nutters are agitating for stricter sharia law, with females returned to being chattels, homosexuals returned to the stoning pits, and apostates to be swung from construction cranes.

You, Wally, are a perfect example of the sort of Muslim I would summarily have deported from Australia as a hostile alien whose only reason for remaining in this country is for its economic benefits.

In all other ways you are an enemy of Australian society.

You are very lucky that Australia's two major parties - the Liberal and Labour parties are both far left socialist in their social policies.

If you're a Muslim then you're most certainly not "aussie ... bred".

Australia doesn't breed Muslims ... only Muslims breed Muslims.

Abbott deciding on increasing the Muslim refugee intake by 7000 a year is incontrovertible proof that although he is an economic rightwinger ~ his social policies even outstrip that of the Gillard-Rudd Soviet Socialist regime.

I saw Abbott on the TV in Iraq yesterday telling the troops that their efforts against ISIS is helping to protect Australians from terrorism at home.

What utter delusional nonsense. What farsical idiocy.

The only effect western troops over there have on our domestic situation is to stir up paranoid animosities in our own Muslim ghettoes against us.

Please provide a link to any government policy or decree that refers to refugee quotas by religion.

Let's not mistake their impotence for benign intent. And only extreme naivete would lead someone to believe they will never get what they want.

Do you think its possible the fact that these laws never have and never will have a dogs chance in hell of ever being used was an influencing factor in getting them through?

Which, of course, in no way negates the point that there IS support for the death penalty for apostasy to the extent that the 'people's representatives' would make such a show of it.

Which in no way negates the fact that it is a hell of a lot easier to support drastic laws in principle when you know it is purely symbolic and will have precisely zero impact. That goes for enacting laws that you know will never be used just the same as it goes for answering "yes" to a consequence-free survey question.

That must be it. They are stuck inside your infinite loop of circular reasoning.

The majority of Malaysian Muslims support the death penalty for apostasy. Fortunately Malaysia is a democracy and there are enough non-Muslims in Malaysia to water them down to a minority of the total population. Gandalf, Brian, HB et al will desperately cling to any alternative explanation (eg they didn't really mean it, only a poll conducted within the last 5 minutes counts etc), other than the obvious.

Malaysia does have plenty of backwards laws, thanks to Islam.
