Yesterday was the first day of voting. The polling booths at the electoral offices opened at 9am and closed at 5pm.

the votes have been counted...............22,000 people voted on day one.

Apparently today was a little slower, but still unusually busy for pre election day voting.

An official said that if it continues at this rate for the next two weeks, there will hardly be anyone left to vote on the 31st.

I wonder why?

Is it because it's still the holidays?

Is it because people are anxious to get rid of Newman?

Incidentally, a lot of Queenslanders are happy to save our assets. The lease of assets could get Newman booted, like it did with Bligh.....too funny if they both fell from the same stupid policy. Even though it's 99 years, people don't want their great grand kids having to buy them back with added costs.

How much will the state electricity grid cost in 2114?

Just another thing you don't understand...

Not at all.  She is correct.

Not at all, she is incorrect. The article refers to added infrastructure...

Leasing /selling essential services is a very bad idea and Queenslanders wholeheartedly agree.

He asked us.

We said NO.

He didn't listen.

I hope he pays the price.

All parties and all independents in my region are against the sale/lease of assets. Every how to vote card is saying "vote LNP last" (except LNP).

from the article

Under the South Australian agreement, the lessee can elect to own any infrastructure it spends more than $2 million replacing. If the state wants it back at the end of the agreement, it would have to pay the private company full value for the assets.

Treasurer Tim Nicholls, who also couldn't answer the question in November, said Queenslanders didn't need to know all the answers yet, only that the government had a "strong plan" for dealing with its current debt.

Every telegraph pole, every sub-station, every street light that is replaced over the 99 year period, all to be paid for at buy back time.

People don't know that until you tell them.

Put LNP last.

nope ... she is correct

the lessee can elect to own any infrastructure it spends more than $2 million replacing.

with a 99yr lease, that'll apply to just about everything. Or do you think the generators being used today will still be working in 99yrs?

sale by stealth

Campbell took over a cotcase economy.

the left had something like 22,000 govt employees they could not fund.

the left put us into a huge debt after Jo.

Campbell took rapid decisive necessary actions.
