How would that be achieved?

Starve them of tax payers money and make religious institutions pay tax on their takings.

You don't need institutions in order to have religion.

How will the police and courts know that I have faith, and that I'm practicing religion in my home?

Just to balance this thread.

Christians murder 6,000  people.

Quote:
Christian militias in Central African Republic have carried out ethnic cleansing of the Muslim population during the country's ongoing civil war, but there is no proof there was genocidal intent, a United Nations commission of inquiry has said.

"Thousands of people died as a result of the conflict. Human rights violations and abuses were committed by all parties. The Seleka coalition and the anti-balaka are also responsible for war crimes and crimes against humanity," the inquiry said on Thursday.

"Although the commission cannot conclude that there was genocide, ethnic cleansing of the Muslim population by the anti-balaka constitutes a crime against humanity," the report said.

The final report of the inquiry, which was submitted to the UN Security Council on December 19, said up to 6,000 people had been killed though it "considers that such estimates fail to capture the full magnitude of the killings that occurred".

The mostly Christian or animist "anti-balaka" militia took up arms in 2013 in response to months of looting and killing by mostly Muslim Seleka rebels who had toppled President Francois Bozize and seized power in March the same year.

The UN Security Council established the commission of inquiry in December 2013.

Is it time to ban religion?

There is a big difference between killing in the name of religion, and a religious person killing for a purpose.

Had that Muslim cop in Paris shot the terrorist last week before they could kill him, it would have been a Muslim killing people for a purpose, but it would not be killing in the name of a religion. Yes the person killing is religious, but their religion is completely irrelevant. It is just a cop doing his job.

Read the highlighted part. It wasn't just Christians involved, and the killing happened in retaliation to previous attacks. The retaliations were also many small attacks over a period of time, not just one big slaughter. Their religion is irrelevant to the actions. It was self preservation by a mixture of religions coming under attack by Muslims over a long period of time, and especially over the last couple of years.

that doesn't make any sense. Take religion out of the equation and that is one less reason to kill another.

people can believe in mickey mouse if they want. It is their choice of course. What you don't want is organized institutions drumming their gob gobbing muck into people from a very young age particularly through schools which tax payers are paying for.

Sir Booby, you are almost as naive as you are gay.

Not that there's anything wrong with that.

Banning religion is impossible.

I'd like to see religion disappear from the face of the Earth, however, it's never going to be achieved by legislation.

It makes perfect sense. There are many times when killing happens that has nothing to do with religion. The person killing may be religious, but their killing of another has nothing to do with their religion.

If a cop shoots a terrorist, does it matter that the cop may be Christian, Muslims, atheist, etc? Of course not. It has nothing to do with why they shot the terrorist.

If a Muslims man shoots his neighbour because his neighbour raped his 5 year old daughter, then that has nothing to do with Islam. However, if a Muslims man shoots his neighbour because his neighbour is an atheist and his lifestyle disrespects Allah, then that has everything to do with Islam.

And I wasn't talking about that. It was a reply to your Christians kill 6000 people and your call to ban all regions based on that, when your own quote shows that it was actually groups of different religions defending themselves over a period of time and smaller engagements resulting in many deaths. In other words, local villages protecting themselves, not people killing in the name of any one religion.

So how does banning religion change that? You don't think atheist will protect themselves when being killed for years?

Atheist's certainly won't be killing each other over the difference between the writings in some old book.

Agreed, taxpayers should not have to finance the spread of delusional ideas.

You seem to be as naive as Sir Booby.

Cutting funding from religious schools and institutions will not make religion disappear.

How will you stop parents from "drumming their gob gobbing muck" into their children, in the privacy of their own homes?

You can't stop it but you can diminish it.

The Internet and the dissemination of information has certainly impacted on it as well.

And kids aren't interested in that Sunday school sh.t anymore. It is so boring and out of date. It is so yesterday.
