Why do you want everything for free? You realise it isn't free, don't you?

Why do you support a government that has so blatantly broken promises?

Of course it's not 'free' - but it's part of the overall balance of a decent budget that has been correctly handled by successive governments - something not yet in evidence in any way.

It's all about where governments put the money they have to hand - trouble is that all confuse a Budget for hard cash when it is nothing of the sort - it is a forward guestimation of what MIGHT come in and go out, and is invariably wrong.

Again - what is needed is insulated accounts - insulated from the grasping hands of ministers and politicians.

You have a separate account for your mortgage, don't you?

Simple housekeeping would set these fools on the right path.   You take money from petrol - it goes back into roads - not consolidated revenue for all to suck on and then suddenly find out there isn't enough to go around.

You spend it all on lollies at the shop, and can't pay your grocer's bill...

"I'll have a half pound of Privatised lollies... a handful of social benefits for selected groups.. some affirmative action chewies... and a campaign fund slushie....."

Well why not start with it?  Why instead start with Medicare?  Seems to be some ideology at play here.

Armpit thinks the government should pay for these free services by not paying.

Der. Bloody hell.

And ps armpit: they aren't free because our taxes pay for it, and id much prefer to see my taxes be use to keep all in society healthy, as opposed to being used for pretend signs of solidarity by sending 2 planes in to aid the largest and most  resourced army in the world.  $500 million because apparently the US hasn't got 2 planes.  And in response our sickest pay $20 for the gp.

Fckn idiots!
