Yes, very true. However, simply drawing satirical cartoons about Jewish people might lead to a court case, just as drawing satirical cartoons about Mohammed 'should have' resulted in court case.

I disagree with the comment about muslims and sense of humour the funniest people I have seen have been Muslims..

I love this guy if you didnt watch Legally Brown on SBS you missed a bloody god laugh...

there was also a British show I liked but havent seen for a long time.. also a Muslim also the funniest...

I think you might be making the standard mistake of calling anyone from the middle east a Muslim. If they don't follow the Koran they are pretending, that is unless they are from one of the minorities. The perception has something like racist implications. An Arab living in the west who has adopted western liberalism is not a Muslim.

It just demonstrates that purported free speech is an illusion created to placate the masses.

There is no free speech and the only reason Charlie Hebdo mocks Muslims is because it matches French government conduct.

All it would really have taken was a complaint from Muslim leaders and/or a civil court case to stop the cartoons...

Ohhh please, take your rose colored (propaganda) glasses off. You think no muslim complained about the CH cartoons and would not have formally complained to an appropriate authority if it would have done any good.

There's humour, then there's outright insult.

Legally Brown are making fun of themselves, much like the Kumers of Number whatever (Indian) and George Kapiniaris (Greek), it's different to western dudes insulting their Muslim prophet. I'm sure even the Muslims can laugh at themselves, just not make fun of their prophet.

If I, or anyone else never mentioned Muhammed again, I wouldn't care less, it's no big deal.
