Nationwide Protest Rally Wednesday 4 March
Jan 31st, 2015 at 12:45pm

Fight for our Rights on 4 March      Smiley
Unions Australia

Our rights at work are again under attack from the Abbott Government and employers.

Just last week it became even clearer that the full-scale Productivity Commission inquiry into our rights at work could deliver cuts to penalty rates, the abolition of the minimum wage, bring back unfair individual contracts and swing even more power to the employers.

The time to stand up and fight back is now.

Let’s march together with thousands of our neighbors, workmates, friends and families at a national rally on Wednesday, 4 March.

We can’t stand by while the Abbott Government destroys our living standards by:

cutting wages, conditions and our rights at work,
slashing Medicare and hiking up the cost to see a doctor,
    introducing $100,000 university degrees,
cutting the ABC and our public services,
    cutting the pension and superannuation,
implementing harsh changes to unemployment benefits, and
cutting community services that support our most vulnerable.

If you have had enough and want to stand up for an Australia where seeing a doctor or going to university isn’t dependent on how big your bank balance is, where you have a secure job with a decent wage and where we don’t leave the next generation with less rights than we had, then join us on 4 March.

Block Wednesday, 4 March in your diary and start encouraging your friends, family, neighbors and co-workers to join us ...  because the bigger the crowd, the stronger the message we send. Share this page on your Facebook and Twitter pages, and by email, to get the ball rolling.

Times and locations will be confirmed in coming days.

Let’s make it crystal clear to the Abbott Government and their big business supporters: we didn’t vote for these cuts and we won’t sit back while they attack our living standards.

Good propaganda, Comrade. There should also be protests for more homosexuals, Muslims, and feminists in power. The working classes have so much in common with them.

Thanks crook, I'm working with people from the ETU today at the polling booths. I'll see if they're getting involved in my neck of the woods.

I need a good protest rally and what better reason than

Abbott.....

slashing Medicare and hiking up the cost to see a doctor,

introducing $100,000 university degrees,

cutting the ABC and our public services,

cutting the pension and superannuation,

implementing harsh changes to unemployment benefits, and

cutting community services that support our most vulnerable.

Tony Abbott on notice – Queenslanders reject attacks on workers and living standards
.
01 February, 2015 | Media Release Queenslanders have sent a clear message to the Newman and Abbott Governments that they will not sit back while health, education, public services and workers’ rights are attacked.

ACTU President Ged Kearney said nurses, teachers, doctors, paramedics and public servants were just some of the tens of thousands of Queensland workers that made their voices heard.

“Tony Abbott is taking Australia where Campbell Newman took Queensland – slashing public sector jobs, cutting services and attacking rights at work,” Ms Kearney said.

“Whether it’s the GP co-payment, $100,000 university degrees or cutting wages – Tony Abbott is determined to drive down the living standards of all Australians.

“Queenslanders have sent Tony Abbott and the Queensland LNP a clear message at this election – Medicare, wages and rights at work are not up for grabs.

“LNP candidates and supporters licking their wounds today will no doubt be asking their leaders in Queensland and Prime Minister Abbott why they keep failing so comprehensively in the eyes of voters."

ACTU Secretary Dave Oliver said Australians are not going to stand by while the Abbott Government drives down our living standards and creates an entrenched working poor in our country.

“Just last week it became even clearer that Abbott’s wholesale inquiry of rights at work could deliver cuts to penalty rates, the abolition of the minimum wage, bring back unfair individual contracts and swing even more power to the employers,”  Mr Oliver said.

“We do not want an Australia where seeing a doctor or going to university is dependent on how big your bank balance is, where you don’t have a secure job with a decent wage and where we leave the next generation with less rights than we had.

“That’s why on Wednesday 4 March we are holding nationwide protests to make it crystal clear to the Abbott Government and their big business supporters that we didn't vote for these cuts and we won’t sit back while they attack our living standards."

There is something in the genetic makeup of the Lefties - dare I say a deficiency - that causes them to reach for a demo at the drop of a hat.

Let's get out there and blow our whistles, bang our drums, share our tambourines they think to themselves and then run around facebooking everybody they know.

Let's hold up the traffic and disrupt people's lives and businesses, who gives a damn!

Such juveniles!

What the hell?

I worked 44 years, studied and gained a BSc, started businesses and employed people. So what the hell is your point?

I won’t be at a protest Wed, need to drive Mum around and do my 2 hours of volunteering, but if I did go—none of your business!
