more muslim murderers
Feb 16th, 2015 at 12:52pm

Quote:
THE Islamic State group in Libya has released a video purportedly showing the beheading of 21 Egyptian Coptic Christians, prompting Egypt’s president to threaten a “suitable” punishment for the killings.

President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi said his country reserved the right to “punish these murderers” as he called a meeting of security chiefs and declared seven days of mourning after the video was released by jihadists on social media.

The footage released by IS online shows 21 handcuffed hostages wearing orange jumpsuits being beheaded by their black-suited captors in a coastal area the group said was in the Libyan province of Tripoli.

In the latest issue of the IS online magazine Dabiq, the group said the same number of Egyptian hostages were being held in Libya. The Coptic Church issued a statement saying it was “confident” the killers would be brought to justice as it confirmed those beheaded were Egyptian Copts, while Al-Azhar, the prestigious Cairo-based seat of Islamic learning, denounced the “barbaric” killings.

Egyptian state television broadcast some of the footage from the IS video without showing the beheadings but showed the hostages marched along by their captors on a beach.

“Egypt reserves the right to respond in a suitable way and time to punish these murderers,” a visibly angry Sisi said in a televised speech.

The security body that is meeting in Cairo includes Sisi, his defence and interior ministers and military commanders.

Egypt last year denied reports of having carried out air strikes on Islamists in Libya, but US officials said its ally the United Arab Emirates carried out the strikes using Egyptian bases.

French President Francois Hollande, whose government has agreed to sell Egypt advanced Rafale fighter jets, expressed his “concern at the expansion of Daesh in Libya,” referring to the Islamic State group.

The group has been hammered by a US-led air strikes in Iraq and Syria after it took over swathes of the two countries, and has active affiliates in Egypt and Libya.

Sunday’s video, entitled “A message signed with blood to the nation of the cross”, has a scrolling caption in the first few seconds referring to the hostages as “People of the cross, followers of the hostile Egyptian Church”.

One of the masked captors, wearing a military uniform and pointing a knife to the camera said in English: “Today we are in the south of Rome, in the land of Islam Libya... the sea you have hidden Sheikh Osama bin Laden’s body in, we swear to Allah we will mix it with your blood.” Al-Qa’ida founder Bin Laden was shot and killed in a dramatic helicopter raid by US special forces in Pakistan in the early hours of May 2, 2011 and later buried at sea in an unidentified location.

The footage posted online by the Islamic State group shows the handcuffed Coptic hostages in orange jumpsuits being led along a beach, each accompanied by a masked militant. The men are made to kneel and one militant addresses the camera in English before the men are simultaneously beheaded.

The makers of the video identify themselves as the Tripoli Province of the Islamic State group — the Islamic militant group that controls about a third of Syria and Iraq.

Militants in Libya claiming affiliation with the Islamic State group had been holding 21 Egyptian Coptic Christians hostage for weeks.

The security body groups includes Mr Sisi, his defence and interior ministers and top military figures in Egypt, which last year denied reports of having carried out air strikes on Islamists in Libya.

Mr al-Sisi said Egypt reserves the right to respond to the atrocity in a “suitable way”.

“Egypt reserves the right to respond in a suitable way and time to punish these murderers,” he said in a televised speech.

Not sure why the west wanted Gaddafi gone.

Although he was a dictator he did look after his people.

Democracy is not just about elections or political parties. True democracy is also about human rights. During the NATO bombardment of Libya , western media conveniently forgot to mention that the United Nations had just prepared a lengthy dossier praising Mr. Gaddafi's human rights achievements. The UN report commended Libya for bettering its "legal protections" for citizens, making human rights a "priority," improving women's rights, educational opportunities and access to housing. During Mr. Gaddafi's era housing was considered a human right. Consequently, there was virtually no homelessness or Libyans living under bridges. How many Libyan homes and bridges did NATO destroy?

One area where the United Nations Human Rights Council praised Mr. Gaddafi profusely is women's rights. Unlike many other nations in the Arab world, women in Libya had the right to education, hold jobs, divorce, hold property and have an income. When Colonel Gaddafi seized power in 1969, few women went to university. Today more than half of Libya 's university students are women. One of the first laws Mr. Gaddafi passed in 1970 was an equal pay for equal work law, only a few years after a similar law was passed in the U.S. In fact, Libyan working mothers enjoyed a range of benefits including cash bonuses for children, free day care, free health care centres and retirement at 55.

The Islamic apologists never say anything when Christians are the victims of muslims, they squeal like a stuck pig at the slightest  idea of islamophobia like graffiti at a mosque.

$Profit Mo had a Coptic Christian sex slave called Maria, she gave Mo his only son called Ibrahim who died aged 2.

The headhacking from the religion of peace continues, the latest victims are Copts.

Leftists and the Ayatollahs have a lot in common when it comes to criticism of Islam, they don't tolerate it.

Oh thats not fair. Baron has plenty to say about muslim victims - he tirelessly makes up stories to "prove" it either never happens or that they are to blame.

So what were these Christian Egyptian men doing in Libya anyway? Were they acting as mercenaries?

If you enter a war zone, and help a particular side, should you be surprised that the other side would do you in?

Did IS enter Egypt and hunt them down or did the Egyptians come to IS?

Is context important?

Abbott promised no tax hikes & no cuts to the ABC

There's a 'budget emergency', so we will give $9 billion to the Reserve Bank, spend $12 billion on some dubious jets, $2 billion to bomb Iraq, etc.

‘Stand for the People of the Cross’ – Martin Place, Sydney from 2.00pm
Posted by Sarah on February 17th, 2015

Join us this Sunday at Martin Place and ‘Stand for the People of the Cross’.

In light of ISIS’ brutal murder of 21 innocent Coptic Christians, the Australian Coptic Movement Association (ACM) is holding an event, “Stand for the People of the Cross” this
Sunday, 22 February at Martin Place Amphitheatre from 2:00pm.

This latest attack has sent shockwaves throughout the entire Australian Coptic community and around the world. We are gathering at Martin Place to:

* honour our Christian martyrs who paid the ultimate sacrifice for their faith;
* show our solidarity with the families of the victims;
* demand the international community take swift and decisive action against ISIS-affiliated groups in North Africa;
* urge the Australian government to support the Egyptian government’s call for a UN mandate for an international coalition to intervene in Libya; and
* request that the Australian government grant special consideration for the inclusion of Coptic Christians in North Africa in any humanitarian intake.

We encourage and urge anyone who might be sympathetic to our cause to attend this event. Your attendance is vital.

enquiries: info@auscma.com or call 0418 331 213

I would be very surprised if Muslims staged a mass demonstration in defence of minorities in 'Muslim lands', including Jews and Christians (not just an intra-islam detente demonstration for shia-sunni unity).
