Israel PM Says No To Peace
Mar 17th, 2015 at 9:05am

Quote:
Netanyahu vows no Palestinian state if re-elected

Israeli prime minister Benjamin Netanyahu has ruled out the establishment of a Palestinian state if he is re-elected, in comments on the eve of a snap general election.

Asked by Israeli news site NRG if no Palestinian state would arise should he remain prime minister, Mr Netanyahu said: "Indeed."

Mr Netanyahu also said that if he is re-elected he will build thousands of settler homes in Arab east Jerusalem to prevent future concessions to the Palestinians, and would never allow the Palestinians to establish a capital in the city's eastern sector.

"I won't let that happen. My friends and I in Likud [party] will preserve the unity of Jerusalem," he said of his ruling right-wing party, vowing to prevent any future division of the city.

"We will continue to build in Jerusalem, we will add thousands of housing units, and in the face of all the [international] pressure, we will persist and continue to develop our eternal capital."

The Palestinians want the eastern sector of Jerusalem as the capital of their future state.

But the Jewish state refers to both halves of the city as its "united, undivided capital" and does not see construction in the eastern sector as settlement building.

In an interview with Israel's public radio, Mr Netanyahu shot down any suggestion of creating a demilitarised Palestinian state in order to achieve peace, saying his 2009 Bar Ilan speech - in which he first endorsed the idea - was no longer relevant...

Abbott promised no tax hikes & no cuts to the ABC

There's a 'budget emergency', so we will give $9 billion to the Reserve Bank, spend $12 billion on some dubious jets, $2 billion to bomb Iraq, etc.

People like netanyahu will likely be the fall of Israel.

They assassinated Rabin, rejected Clinton's peace deal in 2000, rejected the Arab League peace deal offered in 2002.

Now alqaeda occupies towns  on the Israeli border, and IS is only a  hundred kilometres away. What happens when the US gives up in Syria and Iraq like they have done in all wars since WWII?

Will history marvel at the arrogance and greed of the Netanyahus of this world?

Everyone's sick of the sound of 'israel'

It's like the kid in the supermarket that won't shut up, won't stop screaming for attention, won't do as it's told

Needed a damn hard slap-down a long time ago but no-one delivered it.  Like the brat in the supermarket, Israel grew up to become a problem for society

Israel has acted ridiculously for far too long.
I don't blame the people though, but the politicians as always. It's good to see peace rallies in those countries, it just isn't shown often in the media from what I've seen. It doesn't look like Netanyahu gives a **** if the people want peace.

If the US, UK and all the others roped in to the nonsense stopped providing ammunition for Israel, it's politicians would swiftly learn to shut their gobs

Israel is the 'gay' in society.  Small in number but big on headlines

Israel has had nukes for decades.  We all know it.  Israel knows it.  Yet it's laid waste to the mid-east and still screams like an idiot about Iran being a nuke danger

Israel possesses 300 nukes that we know of.  Israel claims it will utilise the Samson Option and take the world down with it if it's crossed

How did this situation come to be?  'Israeli' fingers in every countries' affairs, that's how.  A creeping cancer and destructive menace

Time to call Israel's bluff.  Needs straffing for six weeks straight so it's reduced to rubble

Reinstate the old borders

Reinstate Palestinian territories

Recognition for Palestine across the board and if the whiners make too much noise, kick them out of the room, dump them on a cargo plane back to an Israel stripped of stolen territory and no longer recipient of anything other than what it can provide for itself

then see if Israel employs the Samson Option

When it does not, tell Israel to shut its mouth and consider itself lucky it still has a pot to pizz in

Most of all, no dual Israeli-American, Israeli-Brit, Israeli-Australian etc. citizenship.  And no dual citizenship Israeli in any political power anywhere in any other country.  No obligator 'visits to israel' by Aussie politicians or they can stay there permanently and survive without their Aussie pension

In any event, someone said yesterday that Israel won't exist, ten years into the future

I want it to exist though.  On a tight budget, learning to provide for itself, stripped of nukes and learning to grow up and shut up

Ooooooooowww!

What an Israel hate-fest we have, so far!

Isaiah 66:5
Hear the word of the LORD, ye that tremble at his word; Your brethren that hated you, that cast you out for my name's sake, said, Let the LORD be glorified: but he shall appear to your joy, and they shall be ashamed.
6  A voice of noise from the city, a voice from the temple, a voice of the LORD that rendereth recompence to his enemies.
7  Before she travailed, she brought forth; before her pain came, she was delivered of a man child.
8  Who hath heard such a thing? who hath seen such things? Shall the earth be made to bring forth in one day? or shall a nation be born at once? for as soon as Zion travailed, she brought forth her children.
Shall I bring to the birth, and not cause to bring forth? saith the LORD: shall I cause to bring forth, and shut the womb? saith thy God.

Deuteronomy 32:43
Rejoice, O ye nations, with his people: for he will avenge the blood of his servants, and will render vengeance to his adversaries, and will be merciful unto his land, and to his people.

.

Jeremiah 23:7
Therefore, behold, the days come, saith the LORD, that they shall no more say, The LORD liveth, which brought up the children of Israel out of the land of Egypt;
But, The LORD liveth, which brought up and which led the seed of the house of Israel out of the north country, and from all countries whither I had driven them; and they shall dwell in their own land.

Psalms 129:5
Let them all be confounded and turned back that hate Zion.

Psalms 132:13
For the LORD hath chosen Zion; he hath desired it for his habitation.

Psalms 149:1
Praise ye the LORD. Sing unto the LORD a new song, and his praise in the congregation of saints.
2  Let Israel rejoice in him that made him: let the children of Zion be joyful in their King.
3  Let them praise his name in the dance: let them sing praises unto him with the timbrel and harp.
4  For the LORD taketh pleasure in his people: he will beautify the meek with salvation.

Isaiah 43:10
Ye are my witnesses, saith the LORD, and my servant whom I have chosen: that ye may know and believe me, and understand that I am he: before me there was no God formed, neither shall there be after me.
11  I, even I, am the LORD; and beside me there is no saviour.

Oh I see, a fairytale book said "abracadabra" or "Zion" or some such word, and that mean that Palestinians must have their land stolen.

You should probably be made to see a psychiatrist if you believe that kind of gibberish.

Grin Grin Grin

They would do all this if they were mad. But they aren't.
What you seem to forget in this miasma of froth and stupid indignation is that the Muslims want to destroy Israel. Not push it back to this, that or some other border but to destroy it.
And there is no 'creeping cancer'.   Israel has not made a claim to any sovereign territory. It uses the Occupied Territories (previously occupied by Jordan, never a sovereign country) as a buffer. It gave Gaza back to the Pallos and they promptly elected Hamas.

Julius Abbott,

"abracadabra"

You are quite a magician yourself!

The Palestinians did not have 'their land' stolen by Israelis or Jews.

Their land is intact.

TRUTH

"Palestinian land" = = 'The East Bank',
and 'The East Bank' = = Jordan

Period.

More truth, and, some seemingly unanswerable Q's about 'Palestine' here --------- >

Palestinian land?

So Israel should not give back stolen land because if they do groups created by Israel might take over?

Quote:
Hamas, to my great regret, is Israel's creation," says Mr. Cohen, a Tunisian-born Jew who worked in Gaza for more than two decades...

..."When I look back at the chain of events I think we made a mistake," says David Hacham, who worked in Gaza in the late 1980s and early '90s as an Arab-affairs expert in the Israeli military...

Reading on....

Israeli officials who served in Gaza disagree on how much their own actions may have contributed to the rise of Hamas. They blame the group's recent ascent on outsiders, primarily Iran. This view is shared by the Israeli government. "Hamas in Gaza was built by Iran as a foundation for power, and is backed through funding, through training and through the provision of advanced weapons," Mr. Olmert said last Saturday. Hamas has denied receiving military assistance from Iran.
...
Mr. Halevy has in recent years urged Israel to negotiate with Hamas. He says that "Hamas can be crushed," but he believes that "the price of crushing Hamas is a price that Israel would prefer not to pay." When Israel's authoritarian secular neighbor, Syria, launched a campaign to wipe out Muslim Brotherhood militants in the early 1980s it killed more than 20,000 people, many of them civilians.

In its recent war in Gaza, Israel didn't set the destruction of Hamas as its goal. It limited its stated objectives to halting the Islamists' rocket fire and battering their overall military capacity. At the start of the Israeli operation in December, Defense Minister Ehud Barak told parliament that the goal was "to deal Hamas a severe blow, a blow that will cause it to stop its hostile actions from Gaza at Israeli citizens and soldiers."

Walking back to his house from the rubble of his neighbor's home, Mr. Cohen, the former religious affairs official in Gaza, curses Hamas and also what he sees as missteps that allowed Islamists to put down deep roots in Gaza.

He recalls a 1970s meeting with a traditional Islamic cleric who wanted Israel to stop cooperating with the Muslim Brotherhood followers of Sheikh Yassin: "He told me: 'You are going to have big regrets in 20 or 30 years.' He was right."

Julius Abbott,

Yeah i just believe faerie tales [that were written more than 3,000 years ago] in a faerie tale book, because i am a person who does not have a good grasp on reality.

"abracadabra"

Deuteronomy 4:27
And the LORD shall scatter you among the nations, and ye shall be left few in number among the heathen, whither the LORD shall lead you.

Deuteronomy 28:37
And thou shalt become an astonishment, a proverb, and a byword, among all nations whither the LORD shall lead thee.

Deuteronomy 28:64
And the LORD shall scatter thee among all people, from the one end of the earth even unto the other; and there thou shalt serve other gods, which neither thou nor thy fathers have known, even wood and stone.
65  And among these nations shalt thou find no ease, neither shall the sole of thy foot have rest: but the LORD shall give thee there a trembling heart, and failing of eyes, and sorrow of mind:
66  And thy life shall hang in doubt before thee; and thou shalt fear day and night, and shalt have none assurance of thy life:

1 Kings 9:6
But if ye shall at all turn from following me, ye or your children, and will not keep my commandments and my statutes which I have set before you, but go and serve other gods, and worship them:
7  Then will I cut off Israel out of the land which I have given them; and this house, which I have hallowed for my name, will I cast out of my sight; and Israel shall be a proverb and a byword among all people:
8  And at this house, which is high, every one that passeth by it shall be astonished, and shall hiss; and they shall say, Why hath the LORD done thus unto this land, and to this house?
9  And they shall answer, Because they forsook the LORD their God, who brought forth their fathers out of the land of Egypt, and have taken hold upon other gods, and have worshipped them, and served them: therefore hath the LORD brought upon them all this evil.

[n.b. In 1 Kings 9:6-9, God isn't threatening people and forcing a people to worship him.
Ancient Israel was a nation of people, WHO HAD BEEN REDEEMED FROM BONDAGE, by their God.
In 1 Kings 9:6-9, God is threatening to PUNISH Israel [who was a nation of people, who were 'in covenant' with God] if they brake their covenant with God.]

"....And he said unto him, If they hear not Moses and the prophets, neither will they be persuaded, though one rose from the dead."

Luke 16:31

And, Christians and moslems should not 'write off' Israel/the Jewish people.

Read your bible!

It's a rare thread that can be put so succinctly. Well done, yadda.

It's really got nothing to do with Israel. It's classic anti-semitism, playing on the old jews-run-the-world card.

Here's the gist of the sob-story:
