I wasn't a big fan of Fraser as PM and never voted for him, because I strongly opposed the events of 11-11-75.

But, in hindsight, Fraser's biggest handicap as PM was a closed economy and an utterly incompetent Treasurer.

Fraser is now quite rightly recognized and acclaimed internationally as a great statesman and humanitarian, if
only as an average PM.

But because, inherently decent man that he was, he washed his hands of the extremists who have taken over
the party (and, like other politicians and ex-politicians who have received international acclaim, such as Wayne
Swann and Julia Gillard) the vile ultra-right filth in and around the current shambles of his once-great party can
do nothing but vilify him and run him down, throwing poo like monkeys with absolutely no justification whatsoever.

Now, who do you reckon might be correct? Internationally-respected politicians, scientists and humanitarians?

Or a rabble of loud-mouthed right-wing extremists who got into power under false pretences and have spent
every day since abusing that power, and their equally loud-mouthed, ignorant and bigoted supporters?

I know whose opinions I'd rate as being the more valid.

Fraser was worth any ten John Howards, and that grub Abbott just doesn't even rate a comparison.

The far-right are a blight on this country, and should be destroyed as a political and social force.

Got rid of the worst PM Australia ever had.
For that he deserves eternal thanks.

Impossible.

Abbott wasn't in power in 1975.

The PM was incompetent at economics not the treasurer, he prevented the Treasurer from taking measures later taken by Keating, and as PM that Treasurer did what Keating couldn't on his own or under Hawke.  But hey kat you never let the truth get in the way of your hatred.

The man was a pompous dick as PM.

You mean like those ignorant bigots marching in protest against him at every possible occasion or the chants and placards of
SHAME FRASER SHAME
the ones people like you have conveniently forgotten due to your new targets to hate.  The Prog Left do like to HATE...

keep on hating kat, no one will ever suspect you for being a biased ignorant bigot...
