Get ready for Sponge Bob Baird's spend up.
Mar 22nd, 2015 at 2:05pm

You know I was watching a Sponge Bob Square Pants cartoon with my 8 year old grand daughter yesterday.

Sponge Bob found a pearl and cashed it in for a fortune.

Now good old Sponge Bob went out and had a high old time. Till one day in his mansion he struck his hand in his pocket and he came up empty. Then all his new found  'friends' deserted him.

That's what will be the case in NSW if the polls are right.

Baird will have his sell off then go out and start fulfilling his election promises, which are monumental. But when the dough runs out and trust me, it will run out; I'd like to know then, how he is going to fund simple things like salaries without that juicy 1.7 billion in profit coming in nicely each year.

Then it will be you the punter to whom the Government will come with clutching tax grabbing hands because....the piggy bank will be empty.

So Swaggie, what has Luke the naughty boy who got caught twice P.C.A. behind the wheel got to do with the entire financial future of the State of New South Wales?

Would you like to tell me Swagman; how in the wide world of sports, Mike Baird is going to replace the 1.7 billion dollars the Treasury gets every year from that Electricity net.

Tell me how he is going to replace that money, because according to his promises he is going to piss the money he gets from the sale up against the wall, everyday a new 300 million dollar promise.

More than Sponge Bob Square Pants and his pearl Baron.

The relevance is an obvious one.  It goes towards decision making.

Mr Foley has paid for his crimes, yes, but voters must query the quality of Foley's decision making capacity given he is someone that has (at least twice) made a clear decision to drive whilst under the influence of alcohol?

What other decisions is he going to make as leader of the State?

Why is the Govt getting $1.7 billion dollars from the electricity net (if indeed they do?).  Shouldn't it be proving the service at no profit?

The State is getting an additional $20 billion in public infrastructure assets.

Very arguably the fiscal benefits to NSW provided by the massive boost to commerce that a $20 billion dollar infrastructure plan will dwarf any revenue losses from the electricity grid.

The opportunity cost of not proceeding will be far greater than the lost revenue.

Getting it cheaper than the privatised States, don't believe me just Google comparisons, you will see the NSW citizens are doing well when it comes to their electricity bills. Why kill the goose that lays the golden eggs, over and over. But then Baird is  the ex Investment Banker and he just wants that pile of dough on his desk and to hell with the future.

Would you care to spell out what these 'Massive Infrastructure Investments' are that will generate this 'huge income'. Sounds like smoke and mirrors to me.

http://www.infrastructure.nsw.gov.au/state-infrastructure-strategy/state-infrast...

Quote:
Infrastructure NSW has made 30 investment recommendations to Government on the next round of critical infrastructure for NSW—set out in the 'State Infrastructure Strategy Update 2014'. The recommendations are for infrastructure projects and programs valued at $18.9 billion—priorities that will reduce congestion, support population growth and stimulate productivity across Sydney and regional NSW.

Independent modelling by Deloitte Access Economics has found that if implemented effectively the recommendations would increase the Gross State Product by around $30.9 billion and add 122,000 more jobs.

Infrastructure NSW’s report targets three areas: Global Sydney’s competitiveness; supporting population and economic growth in Greater Sydney, including Parramatta and Western Sydney; and ensuring productive regional industries and connected regional communities.

The 'State Infrastructure Strategy Update 2014' was prepared by Infrastructure NSW at the direction of the Premier to guide how proceeds from the Rebuilding NSW initiative could be spent

You want the Govt to build lifts for disabled people at railway stations, where is the money going to come from?

So Baird will build some roads then not be able to maintain these roads? Because he is missing $1.7Bn a year in dividends?

You talk of SGP, what about actual money flowing to NSW treasury? None?
