Phobias are irrational, fears are not.
Which is why they're called Islamophobes.
How do you know their fears are irrational?
Hitherto, nobody has demonstrated (by way of credible, reliable evidence) any rationality behind the fears.
I am astonished that you don’t see any evidence that would support total opposition to the spread of Islam, and so you say those who do are irrational.
You dismiss more than twenty years of Muslim atrocities against any culture they come in contact with, but you must have noticed the problem is getting worse, not better. We have recently seen Muslims apprehended in Australia who were planning to go out into the street and stab pedestrians in the kidneys. About the only thing preventing larger Muslim events is not a moderate form of Islam, it is the strict control of firearms and explosives in this country. But when the Muslims do pull off a stunt in Australia your friends and associates may be lucky, let us hope so, but elsewhere mine have not been.
All these atrocities, from the Philippines through Indonesia Asia and Africa to Russia, Europe and America are justified by the words of the Prophet and they have increased with the availability of targets as Muslims infiltrate the non-Muslim world. The Koran is freely preached in Australia and from it the good Muslim is told to commit these atrocities because Mohamed’s concept of reality is the only one to be tolerated.
Perhaps they do not all get up the courage, but they harbour and spread their hatred through what they call a religion and they venerate their martyrs. This is what makes a Muslim according to the Koran.
I think your idea of fair-ness is misplaced. Your dismissal looks irrational to me, not the other way around. Muslims in Australia are no different to Muslims elsewhere. I do not know what your deeper reasoning is. It looks like wishful thinking; as if contact with Western tolerance will somehow rub off on them. Muslims see Western tolerance as cowardice; to them Allah and the Prophet are everything, while to secular Westerners life is everything.
You dismiss the Australians murdered and maimed in Bali, New York and Tunis as not being permissible evidence of the Muslim threat to peace. You seem to think they merely got in the way of a lone irrational person.
I support a multi-cultural Australia, but not one that extends its tolerance and protection to fanatics under a religious cloak of respectability. If that is an irrational point of view, continue to call me irrational, you almost have to justify yourself.
